The Hawkins Lady Hawks had arguably their most complete performance of the season as they beat the Union Hill Lady Bulldogs in three sets last Tuesday.
With set scores of 25-5, 25-9 and 25-7 the Lady Hawk’s defense was nearly flawless holding Union Hill to single digits in each set.
Emily Hodges led Hawkins in kills with eight, followed by Jaycee Cheshire with seven and Christian Harris added four.
Raeli Smith and Lilly Long combined for 16 assists, nine and seven respectively. Cheshire added three blocks.
Head coach Terri Boyd said communication and accurate serving helped her team get the win.
“I thought we played well as a team. We were communicating and moving really well. I would like to see us to continue serving well. We had a rough patch for a couple of games but have been serving (better) recently,” Boyd said via email.
Boyd went on to say that she thinks the team gained some confidence with the win and hopes her team uses it to boost their overall morale.
The JV Lady Hawks also defeated Union Hill 25-8 and 25-11.
