Lady ‘Jacket CC takes first at Tyler Lee
The Mineola Lady Jackets cross country team captured first place at the Tyler Lee Classic Saturday, Sept. 7.
Four of the runners finished in the top 20 of the 1A-4A girls division.
The championship team recorded the following times: Julianna Stanley 12:41.42, Shylah Kratzmeyer 13:19.6, Hannah Zoch 13:20.34, Alyssa Lankford 13:23.76, Kapri Riley 13:56.28, Keilee Riley 14:06.64, and Emily Wiley 15:21.14.
In one of the largest cross country meets of the year, 170 athletes representing 22 schools, competed in the girls 1A-4A race.
Mineola coach David Smith was ecstatic at the girls’ efforts, “I am super proud of these kids,” he stated. Coach Smith was just as proud of the cross country program being built at Mineola schools. “Our program is growing and being successful at the same time,” he added.
He commented that 42 Mineola athletes competed in all divisions at the Tyler classic.
