Lady Jackets prep for softball season
The Mineola softball squads scrimmaged against Athens last Thursday at home.
Sophomore Kayleigh Thompson and freshman Jaycee Smith got some time on the mound to show their pitching potential.
Several players displayed a knack for smart, timely base running – not always the case at the front end of a season.
There is no doubt that Mineola knows how to enjoy the game, as evidenced by their fun, colorful rally hats that accompany jubilant cheering for teammates.
The Lady Jackets hosted Mabank on Monday and the varsity lineup heads to Union Grove for another scrimmage Friday.
The regular season opens with a home game matchup against Sabine Feb. 16.
