The Lady Panthers girls track team took first place at the March 21 Ferrell Wright Relays hosted by Alba-Golden High School. Cumberland and Edgewood girls teams took second and third place, respectively.

Lady Panthers first, boys third at A-G Ferrell Wright Relays

The Lady Panthers girls track team took first place at the March 21 Ferrell Wright Relays hosted by Alba-Golden High School. Cumberland and Edgewood girls teams took second and third place, respectively.

Quinlan Ford captured the boys title with Edgewood and Brookhill finishing second and third. The Alba-Golden boys track team recorded a fourth-place finish.

The Lady Panthers swept the hurdles competition. Bella Crawford, Grace Bizzell and Samantha Rambsel finished 1-2-3 in the 100 meter hurdles. Crawford also won the 300 meter hurdles and was followed by Gaby Jerome and Rambsel. Lizzie Hallman soared 32 feet to win the triple jump event while Abby Hallman won the pole vault.

A multitude of Lady Panthers secured team points with second- and third-place performances. They were Lizzie Hallman third place in the 200 meter dash, Ashlyn Rogers and Gracie Teel second and third places in the 400 meter dash, Lizzie Hallman second place in the long jump, Kalli Wright second place in discus, and Jerome third place in the high jump.

Both the 4x100 relay team (Hope Wiley, Teel, Lizzie Hallman, and Rogers) and 4x200 meter relay team (Ari Nivison, Justina Peterson, Wiley and Kaylee Anglin) placed third. The 4x400 meter relay team of Rambsel, Teel, Crawford and Rogers captured a second-place finish.

Two Panthers athletes won their individual events in the boys division. Jon-Michael Chadwick won the long jump with a leap of 20-2½ and Chris Chabaud took the pole vault competition with a vault of 11–0. Chadwick also placed third in both the 100 meter and 200 meter dashes. Zane Smith took home the third place ribbon in the high jump while teammate Nick Jones finished second in the pole vault.

In addition to the hosts, eight area schools participated in the Ferrell Wright Relays. They were Quinlan Ford, Edgewood, Brookhill, Cumberland Academy, All Saints, Como-Pickton, Saltillo and Miller Grove.
