The Lake Country Symphonic Band will have two concerts in October

The first is at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2 followed by another one at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4. The Fantastic Fall Festival of Music will feature an exciting new work entitled “Beast” by Texas Composer Dennis Eveland. This piece has a cinematic feel to it and is a lot of fun.

The band will feature a collection and songs from the classic movie, “Show Boat.” Some great concert band literature as well as a few marches will be heard plus a premiere of the seventh piece from “The Holy Grail Series” entitled “Bors de Ganis” by symphonic band director Kelly Bennette.

Many great things are coming up with the band including a Christmas concert in December and a movie themed concert in the spring which will feature music from great classic movies such as “Excalibur,” “Apocalypse Now” and “Star Trek” to name a few.

The concerts are held at the historic Select Theater, 114 N. Johnson in Mineola.
