It was a stormy week here at Lake Fork. It rained almost every day, which helped the oxygen content of the water. The water temperatures were steady at 85 degrees and the water clarity is just a little stained but perfect for Bass fishing. However, with so many weather fronts moving thru the Bass fishing was just fare this week. The Carolina rig and the drop shot rig were the best ways to catch the Bass. The ole faithful Zoom watermelon/red Baby Brush Hog was the go to bait on the Carolina rig. Do not forget to dye the tails of the Brush Hog chartreuse. On the drop shot rig, we continued to us the Zoom tomato and green pumpkin Finesse worms. The Bass moved back out into 22 foot of water this week because of the storms. Look form them on top of isolated brush piles.

The Crappie fishing was just fare this week. You had to move from one brush pile to another to catch them. The brush piles in 20 to 22 foot of water produced the best. The chartreuse Bubba’s Bait 1/8-ounce was the best Crappie jig to use. However, there were a few occasions that we had to tip the jig with a minnow.

The White Bass are still on a diet. They can be found in 30 foot of water around old trees and brush piles. We used a white and orange ¼-ounce Crappie jig tipped with a minnow to catch them.

The Catfish fishing was fare this week. The Catfish are still in about 24 foot of water suspended around old trees. Punch bait was the best bait to use to catch the Catfish this week. Do not forget to bait your trees.

On our equipment list this week was our Ranger 520c powered by an Mercury 250 Pro XS, Lowrance electronics, Duckett rods, ABU Garcia reels, Stren line, Zoom soft plastics and Strike King hard baits.
