Lake Fork Weekly Fishing Report

(May 13-19)

It was a warm beautiful fishing week here at Lake Fork. The water temperatures have reached the 80-degree mark and the water clarity is getting better every day. The bass fishing is also getting better every day. It was all about the Carolina rig this week. We continued to use the Buddy’s Custom Baits watermelon candy red Boss Hog with chartreuse tails on our Carolina rigs.

The best water depth this week for our Carolina rig was 14 to 24 foot off of long main lake points. The secondary bass bite was a KVD 1.5 in the early morning. The Gizzard pattern worked the best.

The crappie fishing picked up his week. We found them in 22 – 24 foot of water over brush piles. I went back to the white with an orange tail crappie jig for best results.

The white bass are starting to school up in 22 to 25 foot on deep creek channel bends. We used Joe Spaits chrome with silver scales pattern four inch flutter spoon for the best results.

The Catfish anglers had quite a bit of fun this week. They were caught using punch bait in 18 to 22 feet around baited trees. Have a safe fishing week.
