It was a rainy, windy and cold week here at Lake Fork this week. We received more than 8 inches of rain and the lake level is now within 4 inches of full pool and still rising. Needless to say, the water clarity is stained and the water temperatures have dropped to the low 70’s. With that being said, the Bass have moved to the back of the creeks and are starting to feed. That means little crankbait and Zoom fluke time here at Lake Fork. With the water being stained, we went to a watermelon/red Zoom fluke and dyed the tails of the fluke’s chartreuse. We fished the fluke on a split shot rig to keep the fluke just above the Hydrilla. Use a slight twitching motion with your rod tip. Naturally, the Strike King KVD 1.5 crankbait also work well. We did however change to the chartreuse color on our crankbait.

The Crappie fishing was slow this week due to the weather. Minnow’s were the best bait for the Crappie’s. They are still in 18 to 20 foot of water over isolated brush piles.

The White Bass went back on their diet this week. They were in 22 to 24 foot of water and minnows were the best bait to catch them. It will not be long until the White Bass will be moving up the creeks to feed for the winter. Keep an eye out for them.

The Catfish fishing was also very slow this week. They have moved up into the 16 to 18 foot of water around creek bend old trees. Punch bait is the best bait to catch them.
