Leslie Herlocker  1978-2019

Leslie Herlocker, 41 of Mineola passed away on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019 in Tyler. She was born April 21, 1978 in Tyler to David Carroll and Penny Heddin. Leslie grew up in Grand Saline. She graduated from Mineola High School in 1996 as an honor graduate. Leslie spent the next two years at Tyler Junior College before transferring to Texas A&M University in College Station. She graduated in 2000 with a degree in agribusiness. 

In 2003, Leslie had a daughter, Riley Carroll Donohoe. Leslie lived her young adult life in Tyler and Mineola, where she began working in the banking industry. In 2010, she married Jim Herlocker and they welcomed their daughter Avery Jane later that year.

Leslie was originally diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Adam Carroll, and grandfather Marshall Heddin. She is survived by her husband, Jim Herlocker; daughters, Riley Donohoe and Avery Jane Herlocker; mother, Penny Heddin; father, David and Rita Carroll; brother, Spencer Lucas; grandmother, Betty Lovett Heddin; step grandmother, Linda Kay Heddin; stepdaughters, Stacy Mullinax, Kristen Scavuzzo and Jamie Gibbon; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and grandchildren. 

Visitation was held on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Beaty Funeral Home, Mineola. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019 at First Methodist Church of Mineola at 11 a.m. with Rev. Demethruis Boyd conducting and interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Garden in Mineola.
