Dear editor,

We would like to take this time to thank all who helped Mercy Mall of Quitman and Myrtle Springs Baptist Church of Quitman in their effort to provide meals to families in need of Thanksgiving.

Thanks to the efforts of many volunteers and donations from members of Myrtle Springs Baptist Church, the Mercy Mall was not only able to meet the goal of 100 meals, but exceeded it.

We would like to thank the Mineola Walmart manager John for the gift card in support of this project. We also want to thank Grocery Manager Gregory, Bakery Manager Jeff and the Assistant Manager Trent, along with Hulda, Deli Manager Talia, along with Jeanne, Laura and Carol in Customer Service. Each of these individuals made a special effort to be of assistance to us.

Gregory took time out of his day to help locate items, count, load and sort the dry goods needed. Jeff made sure the pies and rolls we needed were available and helped box them for pick-up. He, Trent and Hulda also worked with the supplier and arranged for a special delivery of the rolls. Talia arranged for Laura to come in very early (3 a.m.) on the day of pick-up and she and Jeanne cooked 100 rotisserie chickens and packaged them. Each of them went beyond what was expected of them to make this effort a success. Carol helped us by furnishing extra supplies for packaging the meals.

Also, a special thanks to Tim Raemisch for making sure the rolls needed for the meals were available and for donating 25 packages of rolls.

Once again, the Mercy Mall and Myrtle Springs Baptist Church would like to thank each and everyone who helped make this project a success.
