My last day with the Mineola Chamber of Commerce will be Saturday, Aug. 1. Although I have very much enjoyed my time at the chamber, I know I need to further my education.

I have been accepted into a college and classes start in August and I will be going full-time. I will be moving to Fort Worth. This is not an easy decision all around, but I know it is for the best for myself and my future family.

Please accept my deepest gratitude for all of the present and past board members, Mercy Rushing, Doris Newman, Lynn Kitchens, Mayor Kevin White, Nancy Murphy and everyone else who has done for me during my time here.

The assistance you have provided me with and the insight you have shared is invaluable to me.

I consider you all and especially Yvonne Maddox, Vic Savelli, Misty Hooks, Pastor Boyd, Donna Hanger, Susan Resnik and Jason Herring a mentor on both a professional and personal level, and I have learned so much while working with you all.

You took a chance with a young girl and I will forever – for the rest of my life – be grateful for that. Words cannot express the gratitude I have for all of you mentioned above.

I also want to thank all of the chamber members and the town of Mineola for accepting me in and mentoring me.

I will forever remember my time here and all the wonderful times I have had and all the learning and growing I have done. I will be back in Mineola whenever I finish school so I will see you all soon.
