To the editor,
It is difficult to grasp the heartless and self-serving decision by our Congressman, Jeb Hensarling, to oppose the bill to send federal aid to those unfortunate victims of the flood in Houston. No doubt he thinks he is standing on some sort of principle that outweighs the suffering and need of the people. This is misguided and arrogant. Where is his compassion? It is something to consider when he runs for re-election next year. Perhaps it’s time for a change.
