Wood County students excel in college
Two Wood County students were recognized for outstanding academic achievements during their time in college.
Ryan Gattis, a senior Mathematics Grades 8-12 major from Hawkins, has been named to the Fall 2013 Dean's List at McMurry University. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have maintained at least a 3.5 grade point average while taking 12 or more credit hours.
Rachel Metzel of Winnsboro was also recognized for outstanding academic accomplishments by being named to the LeTourneau University Dean's List for the Fall 2013 semester.
Metzel achieved a grade point average between 3.50 and 3.99 for the semester to receive this honor.
LeTourneau University President Dr. Dale A. Lunsford said being named to the Dean's List is a significant academic achievement and honor.
"LETU students are among our nation's best," Lunsford said. "I'm especially impressed with these honor roll students. Expect them to have a significant impact on our future."
