Local Kiwanis and Rotary clubs seek golfers
Members of the Mineola Kiwanis and Rotary clubs have joined together for the “KI-RO” Golf Tournament Fundraiser.
The tournament will be held Saturday, June 22, beginning at 8 a.m. at the Mineola Country Club. The event will be a four-person scramble with an entry fee of $280 per team.
The Mineola Kiwanis Club was organized in 1975 and “Serves the Children of the World.” Funds raised through the golf tournament will be donated to the Kiwanis International world-wide project called Eliminate, which aims to end deaths by tetanus for mothers and babies. Established in 1941, the Mineola Rotary Club plans to use funds raised with the golf tournament to provide college scholarships for the students of the Mineola ISD.
Chair of the tournament for both clubs, Paul Thomasson, is looking for teams to participate in the golf tournament. He can be reached at 713 483-4785 for more information.
Vice chair for the event is Roy Shockey.
