Seniors Matthew Lord and Caylie Wiese were named Quitman Rotary’s Students of the Month for April.
Lord is the secretary of the QHS Student Council and president of the Anchor Club. He will attend Tyler Junior College’s business administration program in the fall to obtain his associate’s degree.
Afterward, he plans to transfer to either Texas Tech or Texas A&M to get his bachelor’s degree in business administration. After receiving his bachelor’s degree, he hopes to get his masters degree. He is the son of Laura Clinton.
Wiese received the Academic Honesty and Integrity Award from Flora Masonic Lodge in Quitman and the President’s Academic Excellence Award. She is a TJC dual credit student, National Honor Society member, Quitman Proud Blue Band member and secretary of the Anchor Club. She is president of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) at Quitman, Special Olympics volunteer and St. Peter’s Catholic Church sacristan.
Wiese plans to attend University of Texas at Tyler to become a pharmacist. She is the daughter of Harold and Elizabeth Wiese.
