Lucy Turbeville Lowe 1939-2020

Lucy Turbeville Lowe, 80, of Hainesville passed away Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020 in Tyler.

Lucy was born in Hainesville on Nov. 6, 1939 to Reba Turbeville and Lillian (Haines) Turbeville. Lucy married Dwayne Lowe June 25, 1983, and together they owned and managed Lowe Funeral Home for the past 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reba and Lillian Turbeville; a son, David Chance; sister, Marilyn Turbeville Lee; and brother, Reba “Buddy” Turbeville.

Lucy is survived by her husband, Edward Dwayne Lowe; son and daughter-in-law, Tod and Shelley Chance; son, Eddie Lowe; daughter, Darla Rena Lowe; grandchildren, David Christian Chance and wife Kirsten, Jessica Landri Chance, Aston Chance and Izaak Chance and his wife Lindsey; two great-grandchildren, Ember Chance and West Chance; nieces, Becky Regain and Dianna Sundstrom; and nephew, Rick Turbeville.

Visitation for Lucy was held Friday, Sept. 4, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at Lowe Funeral Home. Services were held on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Hainesville Baptist Church with Brother Terry Davis and Brother Fred Morrow officiating. Interment followed at Concord Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ernie Largent, Paul Slater, Mack Frazier, Christian Chance, Aston Chance and Bruce Nemeth. Honorary pallbearer was Ben Hinds.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
