Marinel Gilmore  1937-2022

Marinel Gilmore, 84 of Quitman entered the pearly gates of Heaven on April 16, 2022 in Tyler.

Marinel was born in Quitman on Oct. 5, 1937 to Buford Hoice and Opal Authalia Bright. She married the love of her life, Billy Ray Gilmore on June 2, 1961 at the age of 23. They were married 59 wonderful years before his passing in 2020. 

Marinel was a lifetime resident of Quitman. She was a Christian of Baptist faith and a member of the Aggie Moms Club. After graduating high school, Marinel worked at the Wood County Central/ETMC Hospital in Quitman. 

Marinel will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and the hole left by her absence will be an impossible one to fill.

Marinel is greeted in Heaven by her parents, Buford Hoice and Opal Authalia Bright; husband, Billy Ray Gilmore; two sisters, Noma Lee Blalock and Sue Boyd Clemens; brother, Troy Bright; and son, Jeffrey Lee Gilmore. 

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, David Gilmore and wife Pam of Flint and Michael Gilmore and wife Tammy of Quitman; brother, Jimmy Bright and wife Sandra of Quitman; grandson, Bradley Gilmore and wife Amy of Cypress; and great-granddaughter, Tinley Mae Gilmore. 

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola with Brother Fred Morrow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Lowe-Gardner Funerals and Cremations
