Marjorie Ann Young  1930-2021

We mark this day as a Legend has passed, May 17, meeting her maker as we all honor, not mourn her passing. Marjorie Ann Young, 90, was born on July 17 in Muskegon, Mich. She was known as Nenaw to most and momma, sister, daughter, auntie and wife to the remaining. Her chocolate peanut butter balls and very decorative visor hats were her claim to fame. Yes that’s the one!

Her life began in Massachusetts but quickly became acclimated to being a Texan for 70 years because her husband, Ken Young, for 55 years was stationed in the Air Force as a young man.

Margie and her husband, Ken, who precedes her in death, raised their children in Irving and then retired to East Texas in the ’90s. She was loved by all who met her and truly loved the community in return.

She is survived by her children, Cyndi Villines and husband Rickey, Ginger Nichols, Mark Young and wife Lisa; her grandchildren, Gigi Geremonte and husband Kevin, Randy Harrison, Keelie Kirby, Kirk Kirby and wife Holly, Jordan Pope and husband John, Summer Pruitt and husband Jacob and Ryan Young and wife Jacquelyn. She also adored her 11 great-grandchildren..

Nenaw requested a Celebration of Life gathering of friends and family on Aug. 21 (Saturday) beginning at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mineola in the Fellowship Hall (doors located on Johnson Street).

Please come one and all, we would love to share fun stories, good food and a wealth of memories with her family and friends.
