Mark Parkerson leaving Mineola ISD
The resignation of director of special programs Mark Parkerson was accepted at the Mineola ISD board meeting on Feb. 10. He has taken a position with Region 7.
“We are thankful for Mark’s service to the district and his forward thinking and work that he’s done in all areas of the district,” said Superintendent Cody Mize.
Administration contract extensions for two years, July 2020-June 2022, were approved for William Bjork, assistant superintendent of business; Luke Blackwell, athletic director; Jennifer Knipp, director of curriculum and instruction; David Sauer, high school principal; Kendall Gould, middle school principal; and Mike Sorenson, high school administration.
An 11-month contract extension for Primary School Principal Jole Ray was approved for Aug. 1, 2020-June 30, 2022.
A probationary contract for Chief of Police Cody Castleberry from July 1,2020-June 30, 2021 was also approved.
The 2020-2021 school calendar was approved. In October, students will have three four-day school weeks, and spring break will be the second week of March to coincide with TJC’s school calendar.
