Quitman Police Report
The Quitman Police Department presented its monthly report for July at Thursday’s city council meeting.
In July, the department had 126 calls for service and assisted other departments nine times giving out 51 citations and 32 warnings. The police served four warrants, made 80 personal contacts and worked three motor vehicle accidents.
The department assisted motorists on 18 calls, had 20 dog calls, and took reports of 18 suspicious and reckless driving vehicles. There were 20 suspicious person calls and three welfare checks.
Charges filed with included two criminal mischief, and one each for assault, burglary of a building, identity theft, driving while intoxicated and disorderly conduct.
