MHS Sound of the Swarm earns another prize
The Mineola High School Sound of the Swarm Band competed in concert and sight reading Friday and earned first division ratings from all six judges.
Combined with the first division (and state championship) in marching band last fall, the band earns the sweepstakes award for the seventh consecutive year.
Prior to the streak, the last Mineola band to win the sweepstakes came in 1995.
The band is also the reigning Class 3A honor band, as well as two-time state marching champion.
