Mineola celebrates its Hispanic Heritage Saturday with the annual Fiesta de Mayo in downtown from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Events get underway along S. Johnson and Commerce Streets as a variety of vendors from food to artisans and retail goods set up.
Entertainment throughout the day ranges from music by Mariachi Real, dancing by the Aztec Dancers and the local Folkloric dancers, a hot pepper eating contest, several pinatas for the youngsters, a classic car show, gelly ball and more.
And it’s all free.
