Mineola cheer team among best in state contest
The Mineola High School cheer team placed 12th in the state competition last Friday in Fort Worth.
The team was among 20 that advanced to the finals. Preliminaries were held on Friday morning followed by the finals that afternoon.
Teams are judged in three performance areas: fight song, band chant and crowd leading. Each segment has a one-minute time limit.
The Class 3A championship was won by Lago Vista, northwest of Austin. Jacksboro placed second and Tatum third.
