Mineola council contracts for 911 services
The Mineola City Council renewed its contract last week with the East Texas Council of Governments for management of the 911 emergency calling data base and mapping.
The price is unchanged at $3,089 for a year.
A new policies and procedures manual for the Mineola Police Dept. was approved at the Sept. 16 council meeting.
Chief Chuck Bittner said it is adopted from the state police chief’s association and includes updates to the policy which is several years old.
A specific use permit was granted for a manufactured home to be placed at Lowe and CR 2810.
The following street closures were approved:
Mineola Chamber of Commerce, Trick or Treat, Thursday, Oct. 31, Commerce from Pacific to Line and N. and S. Johnson one block either side of Broad, 4:30-8 p.m.
First Baptist Church, Trunk or Treat, Thursday, Oct. 31, 4-8 p.m., Kilpatrick from Johnson east to the alley.
Mineola Chamber of Commerce, Savor on the Bricks, Monday, Oct. 28, noon-9 p.m., S. Johnson from Broad to the gazebo at Commerce.
The following city board reappointments were approved:
Landmark Commission
Cheryl Wood and Steve Brooke for three-year term.
Museum Board
Elaine Tuck, Ellen Brooke, Christine Creswell, Janice Wisner and Audrey Turman for two-year term.
Main Street Board
Eric Carrington, Misty Hooks, Chris Williams and Steve Brooke for three-year term.
Mineola Economic
Development Corp.
Jason Ray, Bob Smith, Gordon Tiner and Joe Williams for two-year term.
Parks and Open Spaces Advisory Board
Pat Hamlett for two-year term. New appointment for two-year term for David Householder.
Marketing Board
Lisa Bright, Sue Jones and Lupita Wisner for two-year term.
