Fire destroys family’s mobile home
Last Wednesday afternoon the Mineola Fire Department responded to a structure fire that destroyed the home of Dodie and Joshua Forrester.
No one was home and no injuries were reported.
The department received the call to a mobile home fire on County Road 462 at 3:57 p.m. David Madsen of the Mineola department said the fire was located right on the boundary line for Mineola and Van fire districts.
Fire departments from Van, Lindale and Grand Saline assisted with the blaze. However, Madsen said that the home was almost “completely on the ground” when they arrived.
The Smith County fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
