MINEOLA-A memorial service for Dr. John Clariday, 91, Dallas, formerly of Mineola, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Lakeview at Josey Ranch in Carrollton.

“Dr. John” died October 7, 2016. He was born April 20, 1925, in the “Big Holler” Smith County, Tennessee. He practiced medicine in Dallas for over 30 years before retiring.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Lottie Clariday.

Survivors include sons John, Greg and Kevin Clariday; a daughter, Mary Burdette; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
