78th annual meeting of Wood County Electric Cooperative members Friday
Wood County Electric Cooperatives’ 78th annual meeting will take place Friday at Governor Jim Hogg City Park in Quitman.
The business meeting will begin at 2 p.m followed directly by a drawing for door prizes. The prizes are donated by WCEC’s vendors and includ a grand prize of a high-definition flat screen TV.
Members should have received their mail ballots for the election of directors for WCEC Districts five and six. The deadline for ballots is Thursday. Ballots recieved by deadline will be entered into a drawing and four members will be randomly selected to receive a $250 credit toward their electric bill.
Members can take the other half of the card with you to the annual meeting as it will be used for participation in the door prize drawings.
The public is invited to attend a concert before the meeting. The singing duo of Adler & Hearne will perform at 12:30 p.m. Lynn Adler and Lindy Hearne, of Winnsboro, have traveled coast to coast performing their special brand of Texas folk music sprinkled with jazz and blues notes.
