Mineola girls take second at cross country meet
The Mineola varsity girls cross country team came within just one point of taking the District 12-3A Cross Country meet in Mineola Saturday morning. The Mineola girls had a score of 34, just being nosed out by Edgewood’s 33 points for the top two spots. Rains finished third and Quitman fourth at the meet.
Mineola had five of the top 11 finishers. They were Hannah Zoch in second with a time of 13:33.33 while teammate Keilee Riley ran fifth at 13:42.17. Others were Alyssa Lankford with a 13:54.43 time, Emily Wiley 14:05.27 and Kapri Riley at 14:07.07. Juilana Stanley came in 13th at 14:29.59 and Anna Westberry coming in 24th with a time of 16:11.64.
Running for Quitman were Joanna Santiago in 13th place, Cristal Plata 19th, Christina Remirez 20th, Citlaly Flores 21st, Hannah Smith 27th and Lizzy Herring 28th.
