September has begun and so have all of our programs. These activities are for a variety of ages. It is the hope the activities will help instill a love of the library to our youngest patrons and knowledge of what the library offers to our more seasoned patrons.

Tuesdays bring preschool story time at 11 a.m. for children ages three, four, and five and their parent. Each meeting brings a story or two or three to listen to and a game, craft, and / or song related (and sometimes not related but fun) to the story.

After School is for children in kindergarten through high school. Kindergarten to fifth grade meets with Mz. Mary at 4 p.m. while the middle school and high school students meet with Mrs. Pam. Each week brings a different activity including science, art, technology, and always fun.

Wednesday mornings is for toddlers at 10:15 a.m. with parents bringing their children ages 18 months to three years. They have some playtime together as well as songs and stories.

Thursday mornings are for the infants at Baby Bounce. Parents of infants to 18 month old children bring them and meet for fellowship, stories, movement, and fun.

Once a month is the American Girls club on the second Saturday. In order to participate, you must sign up by the Wednesday before. American Girls explores history through games, crafts and snacks. It is a time for moms (grandmas, aunts) to join with their children and have fun together. Sign up by calling the library or stopping by the front desk.

The third Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. is when the Mineola Memorial Library book club meets to discuss the month’s book. The next meeting will be October 17.  Call or stop by the library for the name of the selection.

Crochet meets on the first Saturday of the month at 1 p.m. and the fourth Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. for a time for fellowship and to work on projects together. If you can crochet, come on down; if you knit, come on down; if you quilt, come on down. The focus is crochet but all crafts are welcome.

October will bring back Computer Q and A on the first Saturday of the month. Sign up at the front desk or call to get a spot reserved for you. This is a group question and answer session about computers—anything from how to turn the silly thing on to how to upload / download and other uses.

Hope you spotted something to explore. Come see us! We’d love to show you around the library!
