Mineola Memorial Library Notes
It is October! We have finished with our updates. We have new flooring in the entrance. We have our shelves arranged how we want them. We can locate things again. We really hope you like all the changes.
The A-frame unit has been relocated (for the last time this year) to the right side as you enter the library. It now has end pieces for display as well as holding new library additions for our adult patrons.
October will have the library hosting two book clubs. The library book club will meet on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. to discuss The Library Book by Susan Orleans. This is a true retelling of the fire in the Los Angeles Public Library and how the cause remains a mystery. Join us for a lively discussion.
The East Texas Library Friends (ETLF) will meet on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. to discuss The Dry by Jane Harper. This is a murder mystery and a look at small town secrets. ETLF will also be selecting future books to read. ETLF rotates its meetings every 6 weeks so take the opportunity to join us for this meeting and find out what is next.
Just a reminder. The library does accept book donations if they are in good shape. The library does not take old encyclopedias. If an item can be used on the shelf as either a new addition or to replace a well-worn item, it will be. If it cannot be used on the shelf, it will be used as an item for fundraising or a promotion or program. Donated items become the property of the library for use at its discretion.
The Mineola Memorial Library has received a donation from Tim and Celia Boswell and a memorial donation for Sophie Crowson from Lynda Rauscher.
