The holidays are fast approaching. We have several cook books and craft books that might be useful this time of year. We have lots of seasonal books in the children’s area for reading on chilly fall evenings (or any other time of year).

Thank you to the Friends of the Library for their generous donation to the Book Drive to benefit Caring and Sharing through the library. Our goal this year is 200 books by Dec. 7, and this puts us on track to meet that goal. If you would like to participate, please drop off a new, unwrapped book at the library during regular hours and we will see that it gets to Caring and Sharing.

Thank you to Mr. Richard for making the library one of his stops on his book tour for Man at 50: A Journey of Crisis, Revelation and Survival. We enjoyed having you and will be adding your book to our collection in the next week.

The library book club will meet Thursday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. to discuss the mystery Expiration Date by Devon Delaney. Please, join this fun group for discussion and to learn the next selection.

The East Texas Library Friends book club will meet on Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. to discuss Stephen King’s 11/22/63. Find the group on goodreads.com under the group East Texas Library Friends to get directions to the meeting.

Remember, the library will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28 for Thanksgiving but will reopen for regular hours on Friday, Nov. 29. There will be no scheduled programs during Thanksgiving week.

The holidays are approaching and even the library has a wish list. We are looking to purchase a particular stadium bag for use for book club bags and for Together Chime Gear. We can always use copy paper, pens, paper clips, transparent tape, and cash donations are happily accepted, too.

The Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3, non-profit and your donations are tax deductible.

The Library received a donation from Toni Wirth.
