Greetings everyone. We are now in full-swing with the December holidays. We have lots of cookbooks and craft books to help you with your holiday plans.

We would like to extend an early invitation for you to join the library for its annual board meeting and open house on Thursday, Dec. 12. The board meeting will be at 4 p.m. followed by the open house until 7 p.m. At the board meeting, you will learn what the library has been doing and have the opportunity to ask questions of the board. Refreshments will be served throughout the library during open house. We hope to have you join us for this event. Oh, did I mention, Santa Claus, that right jolly elf, has accepted our invitation to join us as well.

The Book Drive for children in Caring and Sharing continues until Dec. 7. We have received many wonderful donations and look forward to sharing with the children. A big thank you to the Bread of Life Ministries for sharing a large book donation that will go to the children.

Programs will continue through December until Dec. 19. Preschool Story time on Tuesday mornings at 11 a.m., After School programs on Tuesdays at 4 p.m., Toddler Time on Wednesday mornings at 10:15 a.m.; Baby Bounce on Thursday mornings at 10 a.m. The Last Day to register for the December American Girls Club meeting is Wednesday, Dec. 11 with the meeting following on Saturday, Dec. 14. Crochet will meet on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 28 at 10 a.m. The library book club will meet for the final time of 2019 on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. to discuss The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson.

Please note, the library will be closed for Christmas Dec. 24 and 25 and will reopen on Thursday, Dec. 26. It will close again for New Year’s on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 and will reopen on Thursday, Jan. 3. This will give staff time to spend with family and friends.

If you would like to put the Mineola Memorial Library on your shopping list, the library can always use copy paper, pens, card-stock, glue sticks and transparent tape.

The Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3, non-profit.
