Mineola Memorial Library Notes
The holiday season is upon us and there are all kinds of things to do at the end of the year. There are train rides, visits to Santa, breakfasts, caroling and open houses to name a few.
We invite you to the Mineola Memorial Library annual board meeting and open house on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 4 p.m. We will deliver a “state of the library” address followed by refreshments, entertainment and a visit from that right jolly old elf, Santa Claus, beginning at 5 p.m. until 7. We hope to see you there.
Because of the generosity of Bread of Life, the Friends of the Mineola Memorial Library and our patrons, we were able to give over 200 books to Caring and Sharing for use as Christmas gifts. Thank you all so very, very much for participating.
The last book club of the year will be on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. discussing The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson. If you’ve never read it, you are in for a treat. If you have read it, you will still delight in the antics of the Herdman children. Join us for the discussion, get the title of the next book to read, and you will still have time to make it over to the Select Theater for their special showing of Scrooge starring Albert Finney.
Regularly scheduled programs will continue until Dec. 19, then we will take a break until school resumes on Jan. 8 so that all may enjoy the holiday season.
Remember, the Library will be closed Dec. 24 and 25 so staff may spend time with family and friends. The library will also be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 to ring in the New Year.
Remember the Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3, non-profit and your donations are not only appreciated, they are tax-deductible.
