Happy New Year! Looking forward to the excitement 2020 will bring to us all.

Here’s a look back to 2019 in the Mineola Memorial Library: new patrons 364; active patrons 3,325; library visits 17,421; circulations 36,259; savings $573,848; programs offered 407 and program attendees 2,842.

Those are the statistics. We also received generous grants from the Texas Book Festival for children’s audio books, Tocker Foundation for furniture and shelving upgrades, and the Meredith Foundation for the entryway floor and furniture upgrades, and donations from individuals that help in many ways at the library.

Through the generosity of the Friends of the Library and many members of the community including Bread of Life Ministries, we were able to donate well over 200 books to Caring and Sharing.

In 2020, we will continue our updates with additional flooring, the addition of a medical information kiosk, and a new Smithsonian poster display about the moon.

We will continue to offer books for circulation by popular authors, use of Wi-fi and access to the internet with our patron computer stations, and numerous programs such as After School and Baby Bounce.

The Friends of the Library will meet on Jan. 2 at 1 p.m. to discuss their plans for 2020.

We thank all of you who took time to visit the library over the past year and hope to see you many times in 2020. We also look forward to meeting new patrons and introducing them to the library as well.

We are thankful for the financial support through grants such as the Tocker Foundation and the Meredith Foundation and from generous patrons.

We look forward to seeing all of you in 2020. May this year be even better than last year!

The Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3, non-profit and your donations are tax-deductible.

The library has received donations from Roy and Shirley Devlin and Frank and Mary Lookadoo.
