Mineola Memorial Library Notes

Well, we have partially opened again and it has been so wonderful to see you all. We have missed you. You all have been great about working with our new hours, visitation limits and distancing.

In case you missed it, the library is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday. From 2 to 4 p.m. we offer curbside to those who prefer this service. We close the doors to the public so we can focus on these deliveries. On Saturday, we offer the curbside 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. while we are open because we are more fully staffed. As always, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

We still have e-books available through Axis 360, Freading and Project Gutenberg.

Our computers are available for one-hour sessions. This is one hour per person per day. We only have four open at the moment to help with social distancing.

We ask if you are looking for books, reading the newspapers and magazines, or using the computers you limit your visit to one hour or less. This allows more people the opportunity to visit the library and for us to keep up with cleaning.

We are still getting new books. Shipments are sometimes delayed due to the location of our suppliers. Like us, they are having to adjust to working during the time of COVID-19.

Summer Reading is still on the horizon for the children of Mineola. We will offer take and make kits weekly. Stay tuned for details on this activity. At this time, we cannot do programming in the library and, as it usually is in June and July, it is too hot to have outdoor activities at our location.

Remember, shorter hours, shorter visits, wash your hands and keep your distance. Wear a mask if that makes you more comfortable.

The Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3, non profit. The library received a memorial for Mavis de la Rosa from the Delphian Literary Club. The library received an anonymous donation.
