Hope you all had a fabulous Fourth of July. I’m sure we all had events that ended up being different from the original plan but that’s what makes memories – the unplanned.

Hope you all had a fabulous Fourth of July. I’m sure we all had events that ended up being different from the original plan but that’s what makes memories – the unplanned.

The library asks that you wear a mask as Gov. Abbott put in his order. Most of our patrons have been wearing masks anyway.

We have been placing “Grab and Go” packages in the front of the library on the bench under the tree. These are items for children/youth to take home and use to create. Because we are not hosting summer reading programs as we have in the past, this, like many other libraries, is our solution. They are available while supplies last. New “Grab and Go” packages will be set out on Wednesdays. We hope you enjoy these.

We continue to offer curbside service daily from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays to Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. You may reserve items on-line (www.mineolalibrary.com) or by telephone (903-569-2767). Call when you get to the library and we’ll bring the items to your vehicle. You do not have to get out into the heat, and we will gladly accept returns.

Speaking of returns, the book and movie drops are still on the front porch. They are available for returns 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We check them throughout the day.

We thank everyone visiting the library for your kindness and courteousness. We ask that you keep your distance and limit your visit to once per day and no longer than one hour. We have a limit of 12 guests at a time.

We will continue to clean as we go and to clean the books, movies and audio books as they are returned. We clean the returns and set them aside for at least 24 hours before returning them to the shelves. Never fear if you have an item on reserve, as soon as it is available it is set aside for you.

Stay safe! Wash your hands and keep your distance. We will see you soon.
