Can you believe it’s already November? Want to start working on holiday crafts, gifts and food? Stop by the library and take a look at our craft and cookbooks. Maybe you will find something to inspire you this season.

We will be collecting books for Caring and Sharing again this year. Please, drop off a new book for a reader or listener of any age. We focus on children’s books, but teens and adults read, too. We will collect books through Dec. 2. Help us fill our fish tank (otherwise known as our display case) and share the joy of reading.

We had some excitement at the library last Thursday. A film crew stopped (well, they did schedule ahead of time) to film some scenes from a movie they are working on. They will be in several locations in Mineola. It was interesting to watch what all was involved in filming some of the different scenes. They were a great cast and crew and we enjoyed having them.

We will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24 for Thanksgiving to allow staff time with families. For those traveling, we wish you safe travels. There will not be any programs the week of Thanksgiving.

Looking for a way to volunteer at the library but don’t have a lot of time? Consider adopting some book shelves. When you get a minute, you can stop by, be sure the books are in the correct order, fronted and the shelves are clean. We will teach you how to put the books on the shelf in the correct order. We will even put your name over your shelves if you would like (first names only).

The Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3, non-profit and your donation may be tax-deductible. The library has received a donation from the Boswell family.
