Mineola police reports for the past week include:

Nov. 1 - Walmart reported three shoplifting cases they observed on video.

Oct. 31 - A Johnson Street resident reported a theft of two bond election signs from the yard.

Oct. 30 – Personnel at Capital One Bank reported that a gun was found in a safety deposit box and has been turned in to Police. The owner is currently being contacted.

Officers assisted the fire department when grass and a gas meter were on fire in the 600 block of Peachtree.

Oct. 29 - George Todd Averett, 41, Mineola was arrested for violation of the clean air act. Averett was reported for burning copper wire on Miller Street.

A dirt bike was reported stolen from a residence on Stone Street. This is under investigation.

Oct. 28 - A Walmart employee reported her cell phone stolen while at work. This is under investigation.

Personnel at Aaron’s furniture store reported a theft when a customer stopped paying for a rented item and did not return the item.

Emergency Medical Services, fire department and officers assisted on an inquest of a 44 year old female on Wigley Street.

Oct. 26 – Jason Ray Garrett, 40, Arlington was arrested for driving while license was invalid and possession of a controlled substance. Garrett was pulled over on North Pacific for no license plate light.

Charles Ray Gill, 51, Mineola was arrested on a Wood County warrant. An officer saw Gill at Dairy Queen and knew he had an outstanding warrant.

Dustin Alan Sewell, 34, Mineola was arrested for a Mineola failure to appear warrant. Sewell was pulled over for a traffic violation on Meadowbrook.
