Mineola police reports for the past week included:
Nov. 8 – Mineola police assisted the Wood County Sheriff’s Department in arresting Damion Murphy, 28, and Carl Hughey, 39, both of Mineola, on felony warrants out of Wood County.
Nov. 7 - A teenage boy was arrested at the high school at 12:18 p.m. on a Juvenile Probation Department directive to apprehend. He was processed and transported to the Wood County Probation Department.
Police arrested Charles Kartney James, 34, Mineola on a Wood County warrant for possession of a dangerous drug after receiving a report of a theft at Cross Country Foods on South Pacific Street involving a woman who was with James. An officer found him and discovered James was wanted on the warrant. During the arrest he was also charged with an additional possession of a dangerous drug, resisting arrest and failure to identify as a fugitive. The identity of the woman involved in the theft is still under investigation.
Police arrested Christopher Wayne Davis, 31, Grand Saline at 11:21 p.m. in the library parking lot where he was in a parked car to use the Wi-Fi. Officers stopped to check on what he was doing and discovered he was wanted on a Wood County warrant for DWI bond forfeiture. They reported that during a search, methamphetamine and paraphernalia were recovered and Daviswas charged with possession of those items.
Nov. 6 – At 1 a.m. an officer provided assistance to a citizen who needed help unhooking a trailer.
An officer responded to a disturbance on Meredith Street that turned out to only be an argument over a credit card. The officer found that Michael Brent York, 48, Mineola had a local warrant for expired driver’s license and arrested him.
A West Kilpatrick Street man reported that someone who had been at his home stole his credit card and some money.
An assault was reported at 10:14 p.m. in the parking lot of Taco Bell.
Nov. 4 – Police arrested Chasity Reynolds McGahey, 38, Mineola, for driving with a suspended license after she was stopped for a defective tail light on West Broad Street.
An officer was asked to talk to a teenager about disciplinary issues on Rainbow Lane.
Police responded to a noise complaint on Karen Street at 11:31 p.m. and asked the residents to turn their music down.
Nov. 3 – At 8:34 p.m. a person reported a nearby neighbor hammering and being loud on Elliott Street. An officer talked to the man and asked him to stop for the night.
Police arrested Darwyn Guinn Meador, 68, Breckenridge, and Patricia Ann Forder, 52, Mineola, for possession of a controlled substance over one gram, under four, after a traffic stop on West Broad Street for no license plate light.
A vehicle owner reported just before midnight that their vehicle tires had been cut in the Walmart parking lot. But an officer viewed video and found that it didn’t happen there.
Someone reported their phone was stolen while at McDonald’s.
Nov. 2 – At 9:43 a.m. police were called to Chevron where a woman went into the store and bought an alcoholic beverage and drank it in the restroom and then left. She was found and issued a criminal trespass warning from the property and issued a ticket for consumption of alcohol on premises where alcohol is sold.
A city fence on Commerce and Line Street was damaged and tracks and parts off a vehicle were found at the scene.
Personnel at EZ Mart asked police to check on a man at 5:38 p.m. who was in the store and drunk. Police found him and released him to a responsible party.
At 7:17 p.m. a person reported someone hammering in the neighborhood of South Street was disturbing them. The complainant was told to call back if the noise continued after 9 p.m.
