Mineola police activities from June 30 to July 3

June 30 – at 9:39 a.m., a welfare concern was reported on Bromberg Street when a man left on foot from his residence. An officer located the man at a hotel on South Pacific and took him home and left him with family. Later the family called to report the man had left in a car. A missing person report was filed and entered into the system.

At 12:05 p.m. a woman reported she needed to speak with an officer in reference to child custody issue. She was advised by an officer to get an attorney involved as it was a civil matter.

A man on Nuss Street reported problems with another person and wanted the department to be aware of possible damage to his residence when he was gone.

Ricky Wayne Stacy of Mineola and a passenger were traveling east bound in the 200 block of West Broad Street on a Yamaha motorcycle. Brynne Mongoven of Flower Mound was traveling west in a 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and turned south on Line Street in the path of the motorcycle. The two on the motorcycle were transported to the hospital in Quitman by private vehicle.

At 6:41 p.m. a suspicious person was reported at Meredith and Guy Street sitting in a vehicle and reportedly watching children while they played. An officer responded and spoke with the reporting party. The officer found the vehicle but no one was in it.

A welfare concern was reported when a man called his roommate saying he had taken some medication. He would not tell the roommate where he was and an attempt to locate teletype was sent to other agencies.

An officer assisted a woman and child at 10:24 p.m. when she said she was broken down at 69 South and Loop 564. A language line was utilized for communication because of a language barrier. The officer assisted the lady and child,, getting them a room for the night through Ministerial Alliance.

11:12 p.m. Clifford Eugene Bishop, 32 of Tyler was filed on for felony DWI with child passenger by DPS. An officer made a traffic stop on West Broad for a violation of pulling a trailer with no lights. The officer suspected the driver was intoxicated and contacted a DPS Trooper to assist for the blood draw.

June 29 – A welfare concern was reported at a business on South Pacific Street when a citizen reported a woman leaving her children in the vehicle while she went into the store. An officer responded but did not locate the vehicle.

At 9:23 p.m. A citizen reported a party that possibly had underage kids attending on Brenda Street. An officer responded and did not find any problems and the kids had parental supervision.

Officers assisted EMS with a medical call on North Line Street.

June 28 – A man reported he accidentally left his card in a gas pump at a business on NE Loop 564. He said someone used the card after he left it there. An officer checked video and did not find evidence of someone using the card.

At 11:35 a.m. Jeanette McCarmack, 35 of Mineola was arrested for criminal trespass and several Mineola class C warrants after Walmart reported she was in the store at that time, after being trespassed in 2017.

A business on NW Loop 564 reported theft of property when four customers did not pay the rental agreement on property and did not return the property.

An officer responded to an incident on NE Loop 564 when a man was walking up and down the aisles yelling. The officer told the man he had to leave and he did leave the property.

A business on Greenville Avenue reported harassment from an ex-employee’s family member. An officer spoke with the complainant and the family member about the situations.

At 11:07 p.m. Benjamin Elezodo Barrera, 40 of Mineola was arrested for a Rains County warrant for criminal non support after a traffic stop was conducted on West Broad Street for a traffic violation.

July 1 – At 12:53 a.m. Jeffery Dean Littrell, 27 of Mineola was arrested for driving while license invalid (enhanced) when he was stopped on South Pacific Street for a defective license plate light.

An inquest was reported on Maxine Street when a family member found an 82 year old woman in her home that was unresponsive. Justice of Peace Pct. 2 Wes Criddle pronounced her deceased from natural causes.

A witness at a business located on NE Loop 564 reported a welfare concern for a special needs teenager that was with his parents. The family had left before the officer arrived.

A father reported his teenage daughter and son were arguing at a gas station on NE Loop 564 and the daughter left the car. She was found at another business and returned to her father.

A welfare concern was reported for an elderly woman walking on West Broad Street that appeared to be confused. A family member took the woman to the hospital.

At 7:37 p.m. Spring Denise Wilson, 40 of Mesquite was arrested for driving while license suspended (enhanced). She was stopped on North Pacific for a traffic violation.

9:51 p.m. A head on collision on West Broad Street was reported. Hijinio Zalasar Melgarejo, 71 of Mineola was arrested by DPS for intoxicated assault with a vehicle and an ICE hold after witnesses reported he was traveling east bound in the west bound lane in the 500 block of West Broad and hit a 2004 Ford Expedition traveling west bound in the west bound lane that was driven by Rosas Esperanza Hernandez and two passengers. One passenger in the Ford Expedition was transported by ambulance to Tyler hospital.

July 2 – Fireworks were reported near Wren Street. The officer found the person shooting them on Goodson Street and issued a verbal warning.

At 3:23 a.m. A woman on Molly Lane reported there might be a person in her backyard when a sign thrown in her yard caused the dogs to bark. An officer found two subjects walking in the area and spoke with them. He could not determine if they had thrown the sign.

A missing person since June 30 was located at a business in the 1200 block of North Pacific Street.

A report of loud music on Newsom Street was located by an officer patrolling the area. He talked to the person and told them to turn it down and gave a verbal warning.

A woman reported a Publisher’s Clearing House scam.

An officer assisted a woman with text messages she was receiving from the Lake Jackson area. It is believed to be someone with the wrong number.

An officer responded to a 911 call that was on open line on East McDonald Street. It was found a child playing with the phone.

Officer assisted on an accident on West Broad at CR2840 until DPS arrived.

A reckless driver was reported coming into the city on North Pacific Street that was unable to maintain a single lane. The vehicle was located and officer spoke with the driver who was fine.

At 10:27 p.m. a suspicious person was reported at a home on the Old Tyler Hwy. The responding officer found the person had permission to be on the property.

A nursing home reported a new resident missing. He was found by staff at the nursing home.

A Capital One Debit Card was found at the Mineola Community Bank ATM.

12:44 p.m. A reckless driver was reported to be leaving Mineola toward Lindale. Lindale P.D. was notified

Fireworks were reported on Frances Street and Ivey Street and Padgett Street. Verbal warning were issued at each location

A person passing the car wash on North Pacific Street reported a disturbance. Officers found it was a parent discipline their child.

At 10:37 a possible intoxicated driver was reported on North Pacific Street. The officer determined the driver was not intoxicated.

10:54 p.m. Fredrick June Morris, 61 Lindale was arrested for no drivers license, no liability insurance, expired registration and wrong, fictitious, altered or obscured insignia. He was stopped on North Pacific for a defective tail lamp and defective license plate light.
