The Mineola Police Department activities for August 16-22, 2018 are:

Aug. 22 – At 10:06 a.m. a reckless driver was reported heading west on West Broad Street at a high rate of speed. An officer saw the vehicle parked at a business on that street.

10:10 a.m. Chelsea Elizabeth Long Calvert, 32 of Mineola was arrested for identity theft of property by check out of Tarrant County when she reported a verbal disturbance between her and her husband. When Mineola officers responded to the call the argument was settled and they found she had the outstanding warrants.

12:28 p.m. a person in a business on South Pacific Street reported a suspicious man in the store. When officers responded they found the man to be wanted for a warrant out of Ector County for fraud. Daniel Gene Critz, 33 of Lewisville was arrested for the warrant.

At 2:25 p.m. a disturbance was reported on Kraus Street when a man reported he was confronted with a gun by a man that accused him of stealing from him. Officers and investigators investigated the claim and found probable cause to obtain a warrant for Dornell Lamar Lipscomb, 35 of Mineola for deadly conduct. Lipscomb was arrested at his residence on Church Street.

3:14 p.m. A gas drive off was reported at a business on NE Loop 564. The person headed north toward Quitman. This is under investigation.

4:47 p.m. A reckless driver was reported on North Pacific Street weaving in and out of traffic. An officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

6:20 p.m. A nursing home reported two residents got into an altercation. No physical assault occurred and the two were separated.

9:58 p.m. A business on NE Loop 564 reported a vehicle in the drive thru with four teenagers and a baby and the teenagers appeared to be intoxicated. Officers searched but did not locate the vehicle.

Aug. 21 – At 8:39 a.m. a welfare concern was reported when the family of a man found his vehicle on West Front Street in front of a business, but he was not there. After checking with authorities the man was arrested by ICE for a detainer warrant.

3:32 p.m. Officers assisted a stranded motorist when the battery lost charge on Greenville Hwy.

4:57 a 1-year-old child was accidentally locked inside a vehicle on North Pacific. An officer unlocked the vehicle and the child was unharmed.

At 11:17 p.m. a woman reported a suspicious person behind a business on NE Loop 564. The woman was found and was waiting for a ride.

Aug. 20 – At 8:11 a.m. an officer from Oklahoma requested Mineola police check on an 8-year-old boy who was with his mother. Officers found the boy at school and fine.

8:29 a.m. There was a welfare concern for a man who showed up to work intoxicated and sent home. An officer checked on the man on East Broad Street.

4:32 p.m. A woman reported she wanted a man trespassed from her residence on Goodson Circle. The man was warned not to be on the property.

6 p.m. Wood County S.O. reported reckless driver coming into Quitman. The vehicle was not located.

At 7:35 p.m. Murry Dewayne Richards, 43 of Lindale was arrested for Smith County warrants when he was stopped on a traffic violation on West Broad Street. The charges were violation of a protective order, driving while license suspended and failure to appear.

Aug. 19 - 1:22 a.m. officers assisted DPS and fire with a one vehicle accident on Hwy 69 and Loop 564.

5:56: a.m. A business on North Pacific Street reported a man and woman coming through the drive thru topless and both appeared intoxicated. An officer responded but could not locate the vehicle.

9:55 a.m. Officers checked on a woman on Pat Street when it was reported her car door was open for several hours. The woman was found and everything was fine.

At 1:25 p.m. a disturbance was reported on South Stone Street between two females. One had left the scene in a vehicle before the officer arrived. Officers located one of the subjects on Padgett Street who refused to cooperate.

2:58 p.m. A verbal disturbance was reported on Goodson Circle when the resident reported the grandfather of her child would not leave her residence. An officer responded to the residence and the man left.

8:34 p.m. A woman reported a woman she knew was banging on her doors and windows yelling. Officers talked with the woman who said her iPad was at the location and she was trying to get it. The iPad was returned and a criminal trespass was issued.

Aug. 18 – At 12:43 a.m. a reckless driver was reported coming into the city from South Pacific. The caller reported the driver driving at a high rate of speed. An officer saw the vehicle but no violation.

8:34 a.m. A man reported he was told someone was in his carport on Turman Street . An officer checked and no one was located. A direct patrol has been issued for the residence.

11:34 a.m. A business on North Pacific Street reported damage to some property at the business. Video was obtained and the incident determined to be a civil matter.

12:31 a.m. A woman on Elliott Street requested a man be criminally trespassed from her property. The trespass warning was issued.

1:09 p.m. An officer searched several residences for Justin Jones, wanted for aggravated robbery out of Jacksonville.

8:10 p.m. A shopper reported a woman in the parking lot of a business on Loop 564 walking around to customers as they were loading their merchandise trying to sell a bracelet. An officer responded but did not find the woman.

Aug. 17 – At 12:45 a.m. an officer helped a resident on Kings Lane get in his home after locking himself out.

At 2:49 a.m. an officer checked on a resident on Kings Lane that reported her garage opened by itself.

3:44 a.m. While on routine patrol an officer located a suspicious vehicle parked at a recently closed business on West Broad Street. The officer checked the building and surroundings and found no signs of criminal activity, but he did find women’s clothing on the ground near the vehicle. The vehicle was unoccupied and secure. The clothing was collected by the officer.

7:56 a.m. An officer checked on the driver of a vehicle on West Broad Street after the officer was stopped and told of the reckless driving. The driver of the vehicle was fine.

9:19 a.m. A man reported his cell phone stolen when he left it at a gas station on Loop 564 East. He returned to find it missing. An officer looked at the video surveillance and saw another customer picking up the man’s phone. This is under investigation.

11:12 a.m. A business on East Broad requested a woman criminally trespassed from the property because of a theft in the past. The trespass warning was issued.

11:58 a.m. A hit and run was reported at the intersection of Broad and Pacific Streets when an 18 wheeler reportedly rear-ended a vehicle and did not stop. The truck headed southbound on South Pacific Street and has not been located.

12:31 p.m. A reckless driver was reported on 37 North, southbound into the city. An officer found the vehicle parked.

At 1:08 p.m. a Crime Stoppers tip was received in reference to a man having felony warrants for aggravated robbery out of Jacksonville Police Department. Officers were able to confirm the driver of the vehicle matched the wanted person and attempted to stop the white Jeep on North Johnson Street. The man fled on foot behind an apartment complex where he had been staying with a female. Justin Allen Jeron James, 25, described as a black male, 5’10” and 187 pounds, is wanted for aggravated robbery, evading arrest and other charges. 1:35 p.m. An officer was requested at MISD to investigate a possible threat. After investigating the incident some students were talking about what they would do if they had a school shooting in their school. All incidents reported will be investigated swiftly.

3:20 p.m. A woman reported trespassing when a man was seen at a house on Elliott Street. An officer checked the area and no one was located.

4:05 p.m. Wood County dispatch reported a reckless driver coming into the city of Quitman. An officer patrolled the area, but was not able to locate the vehicle.

At 5:59 p.m. A caller reported an elderly woman standing around the middle school on Loop 564. A welfare concern was requested and an officer responded to the call but did not find the woman.

8:09 p.m. Kevin Scott McDonald, 42, of Mineola was arrested at his residence on Line Street for possession of child pornography, on an FBI warrant out of Dallas.

Aug 16 – At 11:57 a.m. an officer assisted EMS and the fire department on a medical call on Lee Street. The person was transported to the hospital.

At 12:53 p.m. a reckless driver was reported around Loop 564 and Hwy 37 northbound on Pacific Street. The pickup was reportedly unable to maintain a single lane. An officer responded was could not locate.

11:25 p.m. An officer checked on a suspicious vehicle parked behind a business on North Pacific. The vehicle was secure and no one was located.
