Sept. 12 – At 1:49 a.m. a woman from California made a welfare call concerning her brother who had called her saying he was going to the hospital. She was concerned he could not make it by himself. She did not know his address on FM 49 so officers waited in the area that the man would have been coming into the city, but they did not have contact with him.

8:09 a.m. A male juvenile was detained and transported to the police department for interrupting class. The father of the juvenile was called and he was picked up by his father.

11:20 a.m. A wallet was found at South and Front Street near the basketball courts. The owner was located and the wallet was returned.

At 11:58 a.m. A woman reported she was threatened by her estranged husband by text. It was found not to be threatening to the wife but a friend of hers. An incident report was completed in case the texting continues.

At 6:33 p.m. a woman reported her daughter’s phone was taken at school. The phone was pinging at a residence on Gerald Street. Officers went to the residence and recovered her phone. It was found the phone was taken by an 8-year -old. No charges could be filed and the woman did not wish to after getting the phone back.

A 911 call was received from a child at 6:55 p.m. from an unknown address stating her grandmother was passed out. Officers checked several locations on Francis Street in an attempt to locate the residence. The officers were unable to locate the callers address.

A fire was reportedly burning in a backyard at West Broad and Graham Street. An officer responded and found the fire to be legal since it was in a pit.

8:56 p.m. A woman reported her wedding rings were stolen from her husband in 2017 during an exchange of their child. It was determined that the two were still married at the time the rings were taken, so this issue is a civil matter.

Sept. 11 - At 3:42 a.m. a woman on Graham Street reported hearing movement on the second floor of her residence. An officer responded and found a very large rat in a trap. The rat was removed for the woman.

At 7:46 a.m. a woman on West Patten wanted to speak with an officer in reference to a vehicle that parks in front of a residence on the street. An officer checked on the vehicle and found no violation.

At 1:06 p.m. a business on NW Loop 564 filed a theft report involving rental property that was not paid for and not returned.

Loud music and cursing was reported at a residence on South Street at 6:04 p.m. An officer responded and talked to the tenants. The music was turned down and the officers found that kids at residence were being loud.

At 7:26 p.m. Loud cursing was reported at a residence on South Street. An officer had already been there on an earlier call and officer responded to the same residence but did not witness any loud cursing.

At 11:48 p.m. A disturbance was reported on South Pacific Street between boyfriend and girlfriend. Officers responded and found it to be verbal only. The two did separate for the night.

Sept. 10 - At 1:46 a.m. officers assisted EMS and the Fire Department First Responders on West Kilpatrick on a medical call.

At 2:14 a.m. a woman on Mimosa Street reported she found a man in her residence that only had his underwear on and she chased him out. The man had left his ID card, so officers found him to be a neighbor that thought he was in his residence. The complainant decided not to file charges, but a criminal trespass warning was issued to the suspect. The man was believed to be intoxicated.

At 2:18 p.m. a disturbance was reported on Kraus Street when an 11-year-old male juvenile became violent and started hitting a woman with a stick and throwing dirt on her. Officers responded and took the boy into custody for assault causing bodily injury. He was processed and transported to juvenile probation.

At 4:10 p.m. a suitcase was found in front of Brookshire’s. It is at the Mineola Police Department.

At 6:32 p.m. a man on Ivey Street wished to speak with an officer about his neighbor that was cursing and threatening him. An officer spoke with the man and gave him some options. A directed patrol was issued for the residence.

Sept 9 – At 1:42 a.m. a welfare concern was reported by a father for his 2 year old child that was with the mother. An officer responded to the mother’s residence on Freeman Street and found the child and mother were that and everything was fine.

At 3:43 a.m. An officer responded to Autumn Wind Court to assist EMS on a medical call.

At 2:45 p.m. an 18-wheeler reckless driver was reported on South Pacific Street. An officer stopped the vehicle and found no violation.

At 4:11 p.m. officers assisted EMS and the Fire Department on a baby that was not breathing on the Old Tyler Highway. The baby was transported to a Tyler hospital by EMS and later was reported to be fine.

At 6:01 p.m. Amy Owens Short, 54, of Quitman was arrested for theft over $100, under $750 at Walmart after using a receipt to get items to return to the store later for money. After picking up the items Short left the store without paying for them. An asset protection employee confronted Short as she walked out of the store.

At 6:17 p.m. a disturbance was reported in the Walmart parking lot when a woman got mad because the complainant took the parking place. The female complainant said she used mace on the woman that came at her. The suspect had already left when the officer arrived. An officer went to the suspect’s residence on Brenda Lane and issued a citation for assault by contact.

At 10:04 p.m. a suspicious vehicle was found at the school on NW Loop 563. It was found to be a granddaughter that was showing her grandmother where to pick her up at school the following day.

At 10:10 p.m. a possible drunk driver was reported coming in on South Pacific from the Smith/Wood County line. A DPS trooper was able to get the vehicle stopped before it came into the city.

A disturbance was reported on McWhorter Street at 10:40 p.m. between a man and his wife. When the officers arrived the complainant was the husband. He did not wish to file charges and signed a waiver of prosecution. A family violence report was completed and filed and the two were separated for the night.

Sept 8 – At 2:23 a.m. a business on North Pacific Street reported a man in the store that was intoxicated and left in a vehicle. Officers responded and patrolled the area in an attempt to locate the vehicle, but were unable to locate it.

At 3:01 a.m. a woman reported her vehicle was hit while in the parking lot at a business on North Pacific Street. She reported the incident a few minutes after it happened. Officers looked for a damaged vehicle that fit the description but did not locate it.

At 7:07 a.m. a disturbance was reported on West Blair Street. A man said his wife was fighting with him. An officer responded to the call and found the disturbance to be verbal between the two.

At 4:47 p.m. a woman reported she works at a business on NE Loop 564 and a man that she has a protective order on was in the store. An officer responded to the call but the man was gone when the officer arrived. She was advised to call if the man showed back up and an officer would be there when she got off work to make sure the man was not in the parking lot.

A welfare concern was reported at 8:05 p.m. on Circle Drive when a man reported he could not get in touch with his mother at her residence. An officer went to the residence but found a vehicle described was not there. The officer made contact with the family member to let him know it did not appear his mother was at home.

At 8:26 p.m. an employee at a business on West Broad reported a woman was asked to leave bout would not leave the premises. The woman was not there at the time the officer arrived. The officer went to her residence to speak with her and then went back to the business. It was determined to be a civil matter.

At 9:28 p.m. a reckless driver who was swerving into oncoming traffic on West Broad Street was reported. Officers responded to the report and stopped the vehicle on West Broad Street. A family member was called to pick the driver up.

Susana Martinez Cortes, 28 of Mineola was arrested at 11:01 p.m. at her residence for a Wood County warrant for DWI with a child passenger while officers were there investigating her report of her vehicle being stolen on Read Street. It was determined to be repossessed by a rental company.

Sept. 7 – At 11:55 a welfare concern was reported for a young child that was riding a bike in Newsom Street and went inside a residence on Park Place. The caller was concerned for her safety. Officers responded to the call and found the little girl had permission to be riding her bike and the family was at the residence.

At 12:01 p.m. a resident on Wigley Street reported harassment from his wife’s ex-boyfriend. The man was reportedly driving by the residence cursing and yelling. A report was filed and this is under investigation.

At 3:55 p.m. a welfare concern was reported in reference to possible elderly abuse in a home on Rainbow Lane. An officer checked on the woman and she denied any problems and appeared to be fine. Adult Protective Services was suggested to the caller for assistance.

At 4:59 p.m. a welfare concern was reported when a family member reported the wife being abused by her boyfriend at a residence on Stone Street. The family member said the wife refuses to report the abuse. An officer conducted a welfare check on the woman and she denied any abuse and refused to talk to the officer.

8:47 p.m. A resident on Wigley reported harassment. The man’s ex-boyfriend keeps driving by the residence.

At 9:28 p.m. a citizen reported suspicious activity in the alley by Brookshire’s. A couple of people were parked for quite some time and then moved to the parking lot of Brookshire’s. An officer responded to the area, but the vehicle was gone when the officer arrived.

At 10:09 p.m. Michale Gene McFall, 29 of Hawkins, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance after he was stopped on North Pacific Street for a traffic violation.

10:58 p.m. a vehicle was hit while visiting some friends on Clara Street. It was discovered that a neighbor had friends over, as well and had hit the vehicle during the rain. Insurance was exchanged between the two and no charges were filed.

Sept. 6 – At 7:23 a.m. a resident on Peachtree Street reported she was having problems with her grown son who was living with her. She wanted advice on how to legally get the son out of the residence. An officer talked with her and explained her options.

At 1:58 p.m. a business on South Pacific Street reported someone trespassing on the back of their property that is gated. An officer responded and looked for the male subject but did not locate him. A directional patrol has been issued for the business.

At 5:48 p.m. a woman reported she was concerned for her son-in-law that lives on North Pacific Street because he did not show up for work and she could not get in touch with him. Officers went to his home to conduct a welfare concern, but he was not there. A follow-up was conducted the following morning and he was at work.

At 6:23 p.m. a woman reported a welfare concern for her father. She reported he had some medical issues and he got upset while they were shopping at Walmart and started walking. He was located on North Pacific Street and the officer talked him into getting into the vehicle with his family.

At 7:39 p.m. a disturbance was reported on Graham Street when a citizen overheard a verbal argument with a man and his son. Officer responded and spoke with both parties. A man was disciplining his child and it was verbal only.

At 11:12 p.m. a resident reported someone trespassing in his residence on Dubose Street. The man reported when he left the residence was locked and the lights were out, but when he returned the deadbolt was locked and the lights were on. Officers responded to the residence and spoke with the resident. The resident gave officers permission to force entrance to check for an intruder. No one was located inside the house.
