Mineola Police Department activities Sept. 20 through Sept. 26:

Sept. 26 – At 7:32 a.m. a business on East Broad Street reported getting a sign hit on the parking lot. The driver was contacted and insurance information exchanged.

At 1:13 p.m. a reckless driver was reported on South Pacific Street unable to maintain a single lane. An officer found the vehicle and spoke with the driver. Everything was fine with the driver.

At 1:52 p.m. A mother reported her teenage daughter’s picture was posted by an Alba-Golden student that was inappropriate. Investigators found the teenager had taken her own photograph and sent it to a person. The photo did not fit criteria for charges and both teenagers were warned.

At 3:52 p.m. a disturbance was reported in the parking lot of a business at the intersection of Broad and Pacific streets. Officers responded to the call and found one of the occupants was in a heated argument on the phone with her sister.

At 7:10 p.m. a woman reported a theft at her residence on Nuss Street.

Sept. 25 – At 1:52 a.m. Braden Todd Rabalais, 18, of Mineola was arrested for possession of marijuana under two ounces. He was stopped on West Patten for a traffic violation.

At 12:43 p.m. officers assisted with a reported structure fire on CR 2223.

Officers assisted with an EMS call at the police department parking lot at1:20 p.m. when a woman stopped at the department to get medical help for her husband.

At 1:59 p.m. a resident on Graham Street witnessed someone cut the locks on a gate. An officer responded to the call and found the property had new locks. The department was not able to contact the owner of the property, but the officer thought it probably was the owner changing locks.

At 2:06 p.m. a resident on Baker Street reported someone had borrowed his trailer and did not return it. An officer spoke with the complainant.

At 2:12 p.m. a theft was reported when a high school student said she was in the bathroom and dropped her jewelry. She was not able to find a ring that dropped on the floor.

At 4:01 p.m. an officer responded to Trinity Mother Frances Clinic on a possible civil issue between family members. A family member requested an officer respond. The officer was not needed after arriving.

At 7:05 p.m. a driver’s license was found by a customer in the Walmart parking lot. An officer was able to find the owner of the license and return it.

Sept. 24 –A suspicious vehicle was observed by an officer on North Newson Street at 12:45 a.m. It was found to be a husband and wife talking.

At 8:06 a.m. a reckless driver was reported at North Pacific Street and Loop 564 for failing to maintain a single lane. An officer located the vehicle at a business on North Pacific Street and spoke with the man driving. He was fine with no signs of intoxication.

At 4:33 p.m. a resident on North Pacific reported an assault by her husband. Officers responded to the residence and the woman admitted when they arrived she had not been assaulted and made a false report. Officers were able to find out by talking to both that it was a verbal argument, but she did have an injury on her arm. She was transported by EMS hospital.

At 8:42 p.m. a reckless driver was reported at the city limits on East Broad Street. An officer located the vehicle and a verbal warning was issued to the driver.

Sept. 23 – At 2:54 a.m. A resident on North Pacific reported his manager at work was sending him threatening messages. An officer responded and determined the messages were not threatening and situation was a civil matter.

At 4:30 p.m. suspicious persons were reported behind a business on West Broad. The caller reported two vehicles parked and several people standing around. An officer responded and found the people were employees of a business next door.

At 5:47 p.m. a resident reported a woman sitting in a vehicle for at least two hours in a parking lot of a business on South Pacific. A welfare concern was conducted an officer and the woman reported she was waiting for someone and everything was fine.

Richard Delwin Gregory, 55 of Mineola was arrested at 6:37 p.m. for possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer stopped and spoke with Gregory on University Street when he found his behavior to be suspicious.

Audry Jean Thompson, 20 of Mineola, was arrested at 9:37 p.m. for a violation of probation warrant and fail to identify fugitive from justice after she was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation on West Broad. Thompson gave her sister’s name when the officer attempted to ID her because she had a warrant.

At 10:39 p.m. a suspicious person was reported on University Street when a resident saw a woman in her yard who then walked over into the neighbor’s garage. An officer responded and found the woman going through trash.

At 11:22 p.m. a suspicious person report was received from a resident on Wigley Street. The person said she had just got home when her two daughters told her someone was banging on the windows and yelling. An officer responded and patrolled the area but did not find anyone.

Sept. 22 – At 12:15 p.m. A resident on West Patten reported problems with a neighbor. An officer responded to the call and spoke with the neighbor about the resident’s concerns.

At 1:07 p.m. a resident on West McDonald reported someone possibly keying her vehicle. An officer responded and looked at the scratches and determined the scratches to be old.

3:36 p.m. a disturbance was reported on West Front Street between two siblings. An officer responded and found the disturbance to be verbal on about a cell phone. A theft report was taken in reference to the brother taking his sister’s cell phone. The brother denied taking it.

8:52 p.m. a resident on West Blair Street reported someone knocking on her door two nights in a row. The person asked for extra patrol in the area.

Sept. 21 – At 2:04 a.m. Kelly Drug alarm and burglary was investigated.

10:09 a.m. a reckless driver was reported to be running vehicles off the roadway on 37 North headed into the city. An officer spotted the vehicle parked at a business on North Pacific but did not locate the driver.

1:09 p.m. A welfare concern was reported on Wren Street in reference to an elderly resident. An officer went to the residence and spoke with the resident and his caregiver. The officer also found there to be a civil matter between family members.

Eric Michael Link, 48, of Alba was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs at 1:46 p.m. Link was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for a traffic violation. He was found to be in possession of pills without a prescription.

Sept. 20 – At 7:17 a.m. officers assisted EMS at the Mineola Middle School involving a medical issue.

At 11:01 a.m. the wife of an elderly man came to the police department reported her husband was suffering from a medical issue and had got out of the vehicle on West Broad. The wife reported the man walked away headed east on West Broad Street. Officers searched for the man with the assistance of the fire department. The man was found shortly after at the intersection of West Kilpatrick and Line Street. He was transported to a hospital.

4:59 p.m. An officer assisted the Pct. 2 Constable on Debby Street.

At 10:50 p.m. A man reported a welfare concern for a woman on West Buchanan Street. Officers checked on the woman and found she was fine.

At 10:56 p.m. A business on North Johnson Street reported a suspicious person when the man was shining a flashlight into the front window. Officers responded but did not find the man in the area.
