Mineola Police Department report of Oct. 25-31:

OCT. 31 –At 7:54 a.m. a parent reported her 9 year old child was threatened at school by another nine year old.

At 9:40 a.m. a burglary of a vehicle was reported on Newsom Street that occurred over the weekend. Nothing was taken from the vehicle that was unlocked.

At 3:47 p.m. a reckless driver was reported southbound on 69 North. The driver was reportedly going into the ditch and back up on the roadway. An officer got the vehicle stopped on North Pacific Street. The driver was not intoxicated, but had been drinking. The woman called someone to pick her up.

At 6:57 p.m. a business on South Pacific reported to suspicious males in the store for a long time. The two reportedly left and came back. An officer responded but the two had left before they arrived. The clerk was advised to call if they came back.

At 8:26 p.m. a grandparent reported their grandson was being bullied at school. An officer referred them to the school resource officer.

At 8:33 p.m. David Joseph Summers, 30 of Mineola was arrested for driving while license suspended after an officer witnessed him driving on Meadowbrook Street and knew he didn’t have a valid license.

At 11:37 p.m. Michael James Morrow, Jr., 33 of Canton was arrested for class C local traffic warrants after he was stopped for a traffic violation on North Pacific Street.

OCT 30 – At 10:17 a.m. a vehicle burglary was reported on Newsom that occurred over the weekend on. A vehicle title was taken. The vehicle was unlocked.

At 10:18 a.m. Aaron’s filed a theft of service report. An officer contacted the customer that did not pay or return the property. Arrangements were made to have the property returned.

At 11:33 a.m. A welfare concern was reported on University when a man walked away after making threats to his family. Officers found him and spoke with him. He denied making the threats and he was separated for the night from the family.

At 12:42 p.m. A church on North Johnson Street reported teenagers on the roof of the church. A parent was contacted to pick the teenagers up.

At 1:18 p.m. a suspicious person was reported in a store on NE Loop 564. A woman reported a man following her around asking about her children. The incident occurred on the 28th.

At 2:57 p.m. a tagged Pigeon was reported on the side of the roadway on Peachtree. The owner was located by the tags and it was returned to the owner.

At 7:45 p.m. a resident on Brenda Lane reported her residence was burglarized while she was gone. When she arrived home she found the front door damaged and a safe with jewelry and cash was taken.

OCT 29 – At 8:30 a.m. a woman reported she received a call claiming to be the FBI and if she did not pay them $5,000 they would post photos of her and put out a warrant for her arrest. She was assured it was a scam.

At 12:05 p.m. a reckless driver was reported coming into the city on South Pacific. An officer responded to the call and located the vehicle. The officer determined the driver was ok and the vehicle had tire issues.

At 12:38 p.m. a child was accidentally locked in a vehicle on FM 1801. An officer assisted the fire department to unlock it.

At 1:29 p.m. a woman reported a young man asking women for a date at a business on North Pacific. An officer responded but did not find the vehicle or the man.

At 2:19 p.m. a business on South Pacific reported fraudulent charges on their Valero gas card.

At 7:10 p.m. a business on West Broad reported an elderly man in the business that was too intoxicated to drive and wanted to leave. An officer responded and took the man home.

At 9:40 p.m. a criminal mischief was reported when a resident on Belcher Street said a vehicle drove by and shot his vehicle with a paintball gun. An officer responded and found two stop signs also shot by a paintball gun.

At 10:17 p.m. Joshua Ray Scott, 27 of Alba was arrested for theft over $100 under $750. Scott walked out of Walmart with merchandise without paying for it.

OCT – 28 – At 12:11 a party was reported at a residence on Inwood Street that was loud and keeping the caller awake. An officer responded to the residence and gave a verbal warning to turn the music down.

At 1:17 a.m. Juan Alberto Ortiz Vega, 31 of Mineola was arrested for DWI 2nd when he hit a parked vehicle in an alley off West Kilpatrick street. An officer responded to the scene and found Vega in the vehicle asleep with the vehicle still running and in gear.

At 1:41 a.m. an officer responded to a business on North Pacific Street when an unwanted customer was present. The business person requested the customer be trespassed. He was still present and waiting for the officer when he arrived and the man received a trespass warning.

At 1:58 a.m. a suspicious person was reported on Wigley Street when a resident saw a man in dark clothes attempting to break into her and a neighbor’s vehicles. The caller said she blew their horn at him and he drove away in a dark vehicle with his lights off.

At 8:32 a.m. a burglary of a vehicle was reported on Newsom Street. The complainant did not find anything missing. The vehicle was unlocked.

At 8:34 a.m. a burglary of a vehicle was reported on North Newsom Street. The complainant did not find anything missing and the vehicle was unlocked.

At 10:21 a.m. a resident on North Johnson Street reported a screen off his window. An officer responded and found the screen was off. The window was locked with noting disturbed.

At 11:16 a.m. another burglary of a vehicle was reported in the same area of Newsom Street. The complainant only found some paperwork missing. The vehicle was unlocked.

At 11:23 a.m. a caller reported a man coming into the city from Hawkins area believed to be intoxicated.

The vehicle and the driver were located at a gas station on East Broad Street. The man was not intoxicated.

At 11:25 a.m. a vehicle burglary was reported on Newsom Street. A registration and a garage door opener were taken. The vehicle was unlocked.

At 12:04 p.m. a for sale sign was reported missing from a yard on West Blair Street.

At 12:40 p.m. a welfare concern was reported by a friend of a 15 year old female. The complainant reported her friend was posting things on Facebook that was concerning her welfare. An officer contacted the 15 year old and she denied any problems. An officer contacted Wood County S.O. since the female lived out in the country.

At 2:54 p.m. a dog was reportedly in a vehicle on North Johnson Street. An officer responded and found the windows on the vehicle were cracked. The owner was located and warned about leaving the dog.

At 3:28 p.m. a business on South Pacific Street reported a man in the store acting strange. Officers responded to the call and found the man in the parking lot. Joshua Wayne Adkins, 31, of Grand Saline was arrested for a Dallas County warrant for burglary of a building (containing a controlled substance).

At 9:16 p.m. a disturbance was reported on Baker Street. The complainant reported the subject had left and headed toward Padgett Street. An officer responded to the call and found the suspect vehicle on South Pacific. The officer determined no assault or altercation took place.

At 9:26 p.m. the train depot reported an elderly woman had missed the train and needed a place to stay. Ministerial Alliance was contacted and the woman was given a room for the night.

OCT 27 – At 4:57 a.m. a welfare concern was reported on the NW Loop 564 when a caller witnessed a man sitting slumped over his knees on the side of the roadway. An officer responded to the area and found the man. An officer gave the man a ride home when he advised the officer he was trying to walk home from Quitman.

At 4:44 p.m. a reckless driver was reported coming into the city from the Lindale area. The caller reported the driver to be all over the roadway. An officer responded but did not locate the vehicle.

At 7:37 p.m. a resident on Sycamore reported some teenagers standing on the side of the roadway. An officer checked on the teenagers and determined they were involved with a fall festival hayride and were trying to scare the kids when they came by.

At 8:52 p.m. a welfare concern was reported for a man in a wheelchair beating on doors at the Senior Community. An officer responded and found the man to be a resident. The man wanted someone to take him to the store. He had already gone to the store when the officer arrived and attempted to give him a ride back home, but he refused.

At 9:20 p.m. a resident on North Johnson street reported telephone harassment.

At 9:24 p.m. an officer was requested to a residence on North Newsom Street to help the resident open the windows in the residence. An officer responded and assisted with the windows .

At 10:35 p.m. Juveniles were at the civic center after closing so an officer made contact with their parents and had the juveniles picked up by their parents.

At 11:21 p.m. loud music was reported on Graves Street. A verbal warning was issued on the loud music.

OCT 26 – At 2:43 a.m. a welfare concern was reported at a residence on East McDonald Street. A caller reported a possible disturbance between a man and woman. An officer responded to the residence and determined the woman was upset and intoxicated, but no disturbance had taken place.

At 12:11 a disturbance was reported at a residence on West Blair Street. The caller reported hearing things being thrown around in the residence, along with a male and female fighting. Officers responded to the residence and determined the disturbance to be verbal.

At 2:36 p.m. a man reported he was watching his neighbor’s residence for them on Molly Street. The man reported when he went to check on the residence a suitcase was sitting on the porch. The homeowner was contacted and did not know why it would be there. An officer responded to the scene and picked up the suitcase. It was determined the homeowner had a family member leave it there in a hurry so he could make it to the parade. The suitcase was returned over to the owner.

At 5:04 p.m. a disturbance was reported on Clara between a man and woman. An officer responded to the residence and determined the disturbance to be verbal. One of the subjects left the premises.

At 7:59 p.m. telephone harassment was reported by the female from the verbal altercation on Clara Street. The man was called by an officer and advised to cease calling or he would face charges.

At 8:51 p.m. a resident of Heritage Drive reported a possible scam when a caller advised the resident they had her personal information and she would have to call them to get it back.

At 9:45 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted on North Pacific Street for traffic violations. When the officer checked the driver, Mary Rebecca Horn, 46, of Mineola, she had an outstanding warrant out of Dallas County and was arrested for a class B theft.

At 11:02 p.m. suspicious activity was reported at the baseball park when a caller could hear vehicles inside the park. An officer responded and found people working to get ready for the tournament the following day.

At 11:32 p.m. a disturbance was reported in the parking lot of a restaurant on West Broad Street. The caller reported many people fighting. Officers responded and found the noise to be a large amount of people gathering for a class reunion in the parking lot. No disturbance had occurred.

OCT 25 – At 9:28 a.m. officers assisted when an 18 wheeler hit and damaged a cable line that was crossing the street on Graves Street. The truck was legally traveling to a construction site on Country Club Drive.

At 2:15 – a welfare concern was reported when a man picked up his 3 year old child at a residence and then said he was going to MISD to get his other child. The caller reported the man was impaired. Officers responded to the school and met with the man. The man was not impaired and this was determined to be a civil issue.

At 2:56 p.m. a business on Bromberg Street reported their Valero gas card was fraudulently used several times in the Dallas area.

At 4:46 p.m. a business on HW Loop 54 reported theft of service when three customers had rented property but did not make the payments or return the property. This is under investigation.

At 6:11 a wallet was located in the parking lot of a business on Greenville Avenue. The owner was located and wallet was returned.

At 7:03 p.m. a resident on University reported someone walking around their residence. The resident was not at home, but a neighbor notified them. Officers found the front door unsecure and checked the residence but did not find anyone in the home or around it.

At 10:31 p.m. an officer was securing the Nature Preserve and found a vehicle in the parking lot. A man, woman and child were asleep in the vehicle. Upon investigating the situation, the officer found the female was wanted on two warrants out of Gregg County. Kristen Marie Allen, 33 of Kemp, Texas was arrested for a contempt of court warrant and a traffic warrant.
