Mineola Police Department – Weekly News Report, November 15 - November 20

Thursday, November 15

11:03 a.m. A reckless driver was reported at North Pacific and Loop 564 when a woman came to the Police Department to report that an 18-wheeler was tailgating her and blowing his horn. The officer did not locate the vehicle.

1:04 p.m. An officer assisted at the middle school with a medical call.

5:13 p.m. A man reported he received a call from a family member stating her roommate is breaking out the windows at their residence on East Broad Street. Officers responded to the call but found there was no altercation at the residence.

7:06 p.m. Autumn Wind Assisted Living reported a possible missing resident but called back to report she was just visiting another resident in another room.

8:24 p.m. A reckless driver was reported on Hwy. 37 North headed southbound into town. An officer located the vehicle and made contact with the driver. The officer did not observe any problem with the driver.

10:22 p.m. Amber Diane Adams, 35, of Quitman was arrested for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Meth) over 1 gram, under 4 grams after she was stopped for a traffic violation on North Pacific Street.

Friday, November16

11:12 a.m. A disturbance was reported on East Broad Street at Loop 564 when a witness called stating a vehicle was in the median with a male and female arguing. The male was reportedly outside the vehicle throwing things. Officers responded but the two were already gone. Officers located the two a short time later. Both said they just had a verbal disagreement with no physical contact.

12:52 p.m. A bank on North Pacific Street reported a fraudulent check deposited into an account that was later found to be counterfeit.

5:42 p.m. A reckless driver was reported on South Pacific Street that almost hit another car head on. An officer located the vehicle and followed them but did not observe any violations.

5:48 p.m. A child custody issue was reported at a business on North Pacific Street. An officer responded to the business and spoke with both parents to help resolve the immediate issue.

Saturday, November 17

5:13 a.m. Officers assisted with a medical call on Graham Street.

9:38 a.m. Walmart reported a theft. A citation was written to a woman for theft under $100.

6:27 p.m. Loud music was reported on Kenny Drive. An officer responded to the call, but the music was turned down upon the officer’s arrival.

9:36 p.m. Loud music was reported on West Patten Street. An officer responded to the residence and the resident turned the music down.

10:04 p.m. An officer assisted EMS with a medical call on Graham Street.

Sunday, November 18

9:09 a.m. A 911 call was received from Benham Bean on Freeman Street. An officer responded and found no employees working. It was determined to be a possible phone system issue.

11:21 a.m. A reckless driver was reported when an oversized load almost hit another vehicle. The officer did not locate the vehicle in the city. The vehicle was reportedly headed northeast on Loop 564.

2 p.m. A handgun was reported stolen from a storage compartment on a motorcycle while parked on Commerce Street.

6:19 p.m. A burglary of a vehicle was reported at the Nature Preserve. The passenger window was busted out and a backpack was stolen containing a laptop and a cell phone.

7:10 p.m. A disturbance was reported on Evans Street between a man and woman. Officers responded to the residence and spoke with both parties. No physical violence was reported. The incident was documented for family violence purposes.

8:44 p.m. A burn violation was reported on Sycamore Street. The fire was put out and a verbal warning was issued.

Monday, November 19

11:08 a.m. An officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of East Broad for a civil matter between a landlord and a tenant. The landlord was instructed to contact the Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 office for advice.

12:39 p.m. A welfare concern was reported in reference to a man on West Buchanan. Officers made contact with the resident and everything was fine.

1:25 p.m. An officer assisted a stranded motorist with changing a tire at NE Loop 564.

2:05 p.m. A woman reported a young child crossing the intersection of North Pacific and Greenville Avenue alone. An officer patrolled the area and was unable to locate the child.

4 p.m. An officer assisted with traffic control while Union Pacific repaired the RR crossing at South Pacific Street.

4:08 p.m. Michael Gene McFall, 30 of Mineola was reported by his family to be missing since Friday, November 16. This is under investigation.

Tuesday, November 20

1:01 a.m. Jessica Renee Batchelor, 45, of Grand Saline was arrested for possession of a controlled substance over 1 gram, under 4 grams (Meth) and possession of a controlled substance under 28 grams (Xanax) after she was stopped for a traffic violation on NE Loop 564.

1:03 a.m. Suspicious activity was reported at CVS pharmacy when a woman witnessed a vehicle parked in front of the front doors of CVS and made the alarm go off. The vehicle left when the alarm went off. An officer responded to the location but did not find a vehicle and the department did not get a call on the alarm.

9:28 a.m. An officer assisted the fire department on a vehicle fire at Brookshire’s.

9:54 a.m. A tenant at the apartments on North Newsom wanted to speak with an officer in reference to the grounds keeper blowing trash on her porch. An officer spoke with the tenant and explained he would get with the apartment manager.
