At 11:32 a.m. a welfare concern was reported on East Broad when someone reported they heard gunshots in the building next to them. An officer checked the building and found that someone was working on the building.
At 12:45 p.m. a man was stranded at the train depot. He was given a motel room, courtesy of Ministerial Alliance and given a ride by the officer to the motel.
At 12:45 p.m. a person reported the neighbor shooting squirrels out of the tree. An officer spoke with the neighbor and warned him about the city ordinance violation.
At 6:07 p.m. a disturbance was reported in reference to a man assaulting another man at a residence located on West Blair Street. When officers arrived they found that the suspect had assaulted a man. Officers attempted to get the suspect in custody and he resisted arrest. Mark Edward Johnson, 33, of Mineola, was arrested for assault with bodily injury and resisting arrest.

At 5:36 a.m. a woman reported receiving harassing phone calls at work and on her cell phone.
At 10:28 a.m. a wallet was turned in to the department that was found at the pumps at Chevron on East Broad Street.
At 9:54 p.m. a woman on Line Street reported she was getting threatening messages from an ex-boyfriend. An officer spoke with the woman about the messages and the officer provided extra patrol for the area.
At 10:09 p.m. a suspicious person was reported by a woman from out of town. The woman reported she pulled into the Walmart parking lot and the man pulled in and parked next to her. An officer spoke with the man. He stated that he was just sitting in the car listening to the ballgame before going into the store.
At 11:11 p.m. a theft was reported at Sonic when a man used a debit card and it was declined. The man left without paying. The man left his ID.
December 31
At 12:54 a.m. a woman reported leaving her keys on the counter after ordering her food at a restaurant on North Pacific Street and the keys were taken. This is under investigation.
At 2:21 a.m. a call was received in reference to the Historical Museum having a light at the top sparking. An officer checked on the situation and thought the flagpole light was the problem and did believe it was sparking. The fire department was dispatched. It was determined to be steaming because the glass was hot and it was raining.
At 9:14 a.m. officers assisted EMS with a reportedly violent person on a medical call on Kevin Street.
At 1:37 p.m. a woman reported that she left her wallet in a cart in the Walmart parking lot by accident. Several charges were made on her credit card. The suspect has been identified and charges are pending for credit card abuse.
At 7:59 p.m., Ashley Lee Love, 25, of Mineola was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana when she was stopped on East Broad for a traffic violation. The passenger, Jesus Javier Escareno, 35, of Fort Worth was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
December 30
At 2:13 a.m. officers assisted Wood County Constable Pct. 2 on a traffic stop and arrest on North Pacific Street.
At 1:28 p.m. a convenience store on South Pacific Street reported a theft. This is under investigation.
At 11:35 p.m. officers assisted EMS and first-responders on a medical call on Kevin Street with an irate person.
December 29
At 1:04 a.m., Kameron Trey McGary, 32, of Sulphur Springs, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance under 1 gram, possession of marijuana under 2 ounces, possession of a controlled substance under 28 grams and driving while license invalid (enhanced) after he was stopped on South Pacific for a defective tail light and speeding. Dakota Alan Johnson, 30, of Sulphur Springs was arrested for possession of marijuana under 2 ounces. Johnson was a passenger in the vehicle.
At 9:28 a.m. a woman came to the department to get a room for the night because she and her brother were stranded and needed to get back to Louisiana. The female was wanted on class C warrants out of Lindale Lindale police met our officer at the county line to take custody of the female. The brother was given a room for the night through Ministerial Alliance.
At 1 p.m., a Walmart asset protection employee requested an officer in regard to two males that were in the parking lot. One of the subjects had stolen an item from the store. Both subjects were trespassed from the store and one was issued a citation for theft under $100.
At 5:35 p.m. a disturbance was reported at a motel in the 500 block of East Broad Street between a man and a woman in the parking lot. Upon the officers’ arrival, the two were not in the parking lot. The officers knew the couple from prior incidents involving family violence. The officers went to the room, and as they were standing outside the door, the officers heard the man make a threat to the woman, who was crying. The man opened the door and was very angry and resisted the officers. Jacob Neil Davis, 20, of Mineola was arrested for resisting arrest and assault by threat.
December 28
At 1:46 a.m. a welfare concern was reported by a family member in reference to a woman making strange phone calls to another family member. An officer checked on the woman on Newsom Street. The woman reported she had taken the wrong medication, but she was OK.
At 3:52 a.m. a man reported he was getting fuel at a convenience store on North Pacific and left. The man then realized his phone and GPS was missing from his vehicle. He went back to the store but the items were not there. This is under investigation.
At 3:53 p.m. officers assisted Constable Pct. 2 with a traffic stop and a drug arrest on North Pacific Street.
At 4:52 p.m. officers assisted EMS and the Mineola Fire first-responders when a man collapsed at the Panda Buffet on East Broad Street. The 84-year-old man was pronounced deceased by Justice of Peace Cindy Weems after several minutes of CPR was conducted by emergency personnel.
December 27
At 9:50 a.m. a landlord reported a tenant damaged a rent house on Wigley Street. The landlord was referred to the Justice of the Peace.
At 7:30 p.m., a theft of a phone was reported and the victim said the person that had the phone was demanding money from the victim to get her phone back. Officers responded to the Walmart parking lot and spoke with the subject involved. The phone was returned to the owner.
At 11:58 p.m. a dog bite was reported by the UT Health Quitman ER. A 6-year-old was bit by a family dog on Francis Street. The child received a small puncture wound to the top of the head. The dog was quarantined for 10 days at the animal shelter.
