APRIL 25

9:43 a.m. A resident on Dubose Street reported a known man who opened the door to his residence and started yelling at him. The man then took off walking down the street. Officers responded and found the man at his residence on West Blair Street. The man went with EMS for a medical issue.

9:08 p.m. A West Patten resident reported that strange noises were coming from or around his house. It was later discovered that the noise was coming from a toy.

11:13 p.m. A suspicious vehicle was reported at a business on East Broad Street. The vehicle had been sitting in the parking lot for a long period of time with the lights on. An officer checked on the vehicle and tracked down the owner. The owner of the vehicle had left with someone to go to the movie and accidentally left the vehicle running and unlocked.

APRIL 26

9:00 a.m. A telephone harassment was reported by a resident on North Line Street when she continued receiving phone calls from a man in jail. The man was in jail for telephone harassment involving the same complainant.

5:49 p.m. A debit card was found on Front Street and turned in. The owner of the card was located and the card was returned to the owner.

5:58 p.m. Adrianne Nicholle Loyd, 26, of Hawkins, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance under 1 gram and forgery of a financial instrument, after she was stopped on East Broad Street for a traffic violation. Loyd had an active warrant out of Wood County for forgery and a pipe with meth residue was recovered during a search of the vehicle.

6:26 p.m. Alonso Jiminez Rivas, 22, of Mineola, was arrested for duty upon striking a fixture after hitting a street sign at Front and Stone Street. Rivas left the scene and then his mother called the police department stating that he hit the sign. A witness observed a male driving at the time of the crash and during the investigation, it was confirmed that Rivas was driving and left the scene.

APRIL 27

12:17 a.m. A disturbance was reported on Read Street. A caller reported screaming and fighting at a residence. Officers responded to the location and made contact with the residents. Both residents denied any fighting or screaming and the officer did not observe anything upon arrival.

6:58 a.m. Another caller reported a man in the roadway on West Kilpatrick and Johnson Street. The officer called a family member to get the man picked up and taken home. The family member did pick him up and was going to attempt to seek medical treatment for him.

8:39 a.m. A resident on Karen Lane reported that someone keeps letting the air out of the tires on his vehicle at night. A directed patrol was placed on the residence.

6:09 p.m. An officer observed a driver strike the railroad crossing arms on South Pacific Street and almost get hit by the train while attempting to cross the tracks. The vehicle’s windshield was damaged, but the driver was not injured. The driver was an elderly woman with health issues. A family member picked up the woman.

8:14 p.m. A disturbance was reported at a business on West Broad Street. A woman reported that she confronted a man for driving at a high rate of speed and almost hitting her and it caused an argument. The woman reported that the man drove out of the parking lot during the argument at a high rate of speed and headed eastbound on East Broad Street. A DPS trooper stopped the vehicle and advised him to be more cautious.

APRIL 28

11:54 a.m. Two callers reported hearing gunshots or a loud explosion. The gunshots were found to be on Holland Rd. (Cr 2805) in Wood County.

12:10 p.m. A large sum of money was reportedly found at the Civic Center by an 11 year old. The money was turned in to the police department.

12:42 p.m. An officer responded to a civil matter between a son and his father at a residence on West Broad Street. The father would not let his son in the residence to get his property, because of a dispute between the two. The son was referred to civil court.

6:51 p.m. Emanuel Brewer Jr., 21, of Leander, Texas, was arrested for a warrant out of Smith County for a bond forfeiture on a charge of purchase or furnishing alcohol to a minor. Brewer was stopped on South Pacific for a traffic violation.

10:52 p.m. E Z Mart reported finding a counterfeit $100 bill in the parking lot. The bill was turned over to the police department.

11:40 p.m. A mother reported that an unknown person was requesting her 12 year old daughter to send inappropriate photographs via text messages. This is under investigation.

APRIL 29

6:05 a.m. A suspicious man was reported standing in front of a residence talking on a phone since 4 a.m. A family member was contacted to pick the man up and take him home. He was not committing any crime.

7:10 a.m. Another resident reported the same man standing and looking at a tree on Front Street since 4 a.m. A family member was contacted again to make sure he gets home. The man had not committed any crime.

2:07 p.m. A welfare concern was reported for an elderly man who was walking with a cane on Loop 564. An officer gave the man a ride to his residence just outside the city.

10:31 p.m. A resident on Carolyn Street reported two suspicious males who came to his door and asked if he lost his dog. Officers responded to the area and found the two men on Francis Street. The men said they were looking for the owner of the dog and went to the wrong residence. Everything was found to be OK.

11:16 p.m. Loud music was reported on Baker Street. Officers patrolled the area and found the music. The music was turned down by the residents.

11:38 p.m. A caller reported, as soon as the officers left the music was turned back up on Baker Street. The officers responded to the residence again. The music was turned off for the night by the residents.

APRIL 30

9:50 a.m. An officer was asked to assist Amtrak with a confused passenger on the train; due to depart the train once it arrived in Mineola. The officer and Amtrak officials were unable to locate the man on the train when it arrived in Mineola, however the luggage was brought to the police department. After a short investigation it was found the man had exited the train in Big Sandy. The man was located with a family member; luggage was returned.

4:49 p.m. John Mark Gilchrist, 60, of Grand Saline was arrested for operation of vehicle with expired license. Gilchrist was stopped on South Johnson for running a stop sign.

MAY 1

1:30 p.m. An officer stopped to check on a motorist standing outside a car on East Broad. The driver was found to be moving a turtle out of the roadway.

3:35 p.m. A utility card was found in the roadway of University and Patten Street and turned into the police department. No owner has been located.

4:23 p.m. A 68 year old woman was criminally trespassed from Goodwill after she attempted to shoplift.

8:07 p.m. A disturbance was reported on Francis Street when a woman stated her brother was damaging property at the location. The subject left prior to officer’s arrival and complainant did not wish to file charges.

8:18 p.m. A man reported gasoline stolen from his property on West McDonald. An officer made a theft report and continues the investigation.

9:40 p.m. A fire was put out on Landers Street and the homeowners were warned about the city ordinance violation.

11:43 p.m. A laptop was found at a restaurant on North Pacific and turned in to police. Attempts are being made to locate the owner.
