2:40 p.m. An officer assisted SWEPCO and the Fire Department when a resident on Lakeside Place backed into an electrical fixture at their residence and the fixture was smoking.

2:40 p.m. An officer assisted SWEPCO and the Fire Department when a resident on Lakeside Place backed into an electrical fixture at their residence and the fixture was smoking.

4:32 p.m. Walmart reported a theft that was discovered by video surveillance.

May 24

9:43 a.m. A woman reported being scammed out of several thousand dollars by a caller who continued to get her to buy green cards from the store and send to the scammer with money on them.

12:09 p.m. An 11-year-old was arrested for a burglary that was reported on May 17 on Newsom Street. The juvenile went into a family member’s residence and took money from their residence on April 28. The juvenile was transported to Wood County Juvenile Probation.

1:25 p.m. An officer assisted EMS with an infant not responding. The infant was transported to UT Health in Tyler.

2:44 p.m. An officer assisted CPS on a complaint at a residence on Goodson Circle.

6:18 p.m. A restaurant on North Pacific Street reported having an irate customer who would not leave. An officer responded to the business and made the customer leave the property. The customer was issued a criminal trespass warning.

May 25

10:48 a.m. John Dale Umbarger, 60, of Mineola, was arrested for alleged possession of marijuana less than two ounces when he was stopped on West Broad Street for no front license plate. The officer smelled marijuana when he approached the vehicle.

9:22 p.m. An officer responded to a call of fireworks being lit in the street on University Street. The officer spoke with a juvenile and a parent in reference to shooting fireworks in the city and issued a warning.

May 26

10:15 a.m. A resident on East Broad Street reported medication missing and told police that he suspected his girlfriend of taking it.

1:18 p.m. A resident on Bowdoin Street reported being scammed out of several thousand dollars.

7:54 p.m. A welfare concern was reported when a caller observed an elderly woman riding a scooter in the roadway on West Broad Street. An officer responded and spoke with the woman, who stated she had just got the scooter and was trying it out. The woman was a close by resident.

May 27

12:35 a.m. A welfare concern was reported in reference to a female making commits about hurting herself. Officers responded and took the female to the hospital for an assessment.

May 28

10:39 p.m. Laura Renee Basick, 30, of Kemp, was arrested for theft of between $100 and $750. Basick had an outstanding warrant stemming from her allegedly stealing money from a resident at Autumn Winds while Basick was employed.

12:15 p.m. A convenience store on East Broad Street reported that a man attempted to buy merchandise with a counterfeit $100 bill. The man walked out before the officer arrived.

6:03 p.m. A disturbance was reported at a residence on Wigley Street. When officers arrived they were told the female at the residence did not want her boyfriend to leave, so he pushed her out of the way and she fell. The female signed a waiver of non- prosecution. A family violence report was completed.

7:57 p.m. An officer assisted Wood County Constable Pct. 2 make an arrest of two individuals on drug charges just outside the city on Hwy. 80 East. Amanda Faye King was arrested on a Mineola police warrant for alleged manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance over 4 grams and under 200 grams, a first-degree felony.

May 29

10:21 p.m. Officers attempted to locate something in the roadway on North Pacific Street that caused two vehicles to have flat tires. Officers were unable to locate anything.
