Mineola Police Report, Sept. 10-18

Sept. 10

2:12 p.m. A hit and run was reported at a convenience store on North Pacific Street. The complainant reported she had pulled up to the outside pump and a vehicle backing out of a parking space backed into her vehicle and left the scene. This is under investigation. 

5:22 p.m. A burglary of a vehicle was reported to have occurred within the last two weeks while the complainant’s vehicle was parked (unlocked) on Commerce Street. Photography equipment was reportedly taken from the vehicle. 

8:51 p.m. A 15 year old juvenile was placed in custody on Wigley Street on a directive to apprehend from Wood County Juvenile Probation. 

Sept. 11

6:41 p.m. A resident on Francis Street reported that his son just assaulted him. Officer responded and determined that the father had been assaulted by his son and the father had minor injuries. Francisco Reyes, 42, of Grand Saline was arrested for injury to an elderly individual. 

7:17 p.m. A resident on North Pacific Street reported she keeps getting harassed by an ex-boyfriend.

9:58 p.m. A disturbance was reported on Krause Street. The resident reported that her son and his ex-girlfriend were in an argument. Officers responded and determined the two had left the residence before their arrival.

11:38 p.m.  A welfare concern was reported by Walmart in reference to an elderly individual that was sitting on the bench and appeared to be confused. An officer responded and determined that the man said he cannot drive at night and he lives in Lindale. Officers approved a night at the motel through Ministerial Alliance.

Sept. 12

5:55 p.m. An officer assisted the fire department when a vacuum cleaner was reportedly on fire at the car wash on North Pacific Street. The fire was extinguished.

7:15 p.m. A resident on Bromberg Street reported a disturbance when she was trying to get some things from her apartment and her ex-boyfriend took her clothes and threw them outside and started yelling at her while she was trying to leave. Officers responded to the location and spoke with the parties. The female did leave.

9:36 p.m. A resident on North Pacific Street reported she was going to allow three others to be on her lease, but she had decided not to and wanted them to leave. Officers responded to the residence and spoke with them. The officers explained to her that was a civil issue that she had created. While there an officer located a small amount of marijuana on the female and issued her a citation.

Sept. 13

3:00 p.m. A disturbance was reported at a residence on Francis Street when a woman attempted to get her belongings and the other party would not allow her to have it. An officer responded to the residence. The reporting party was able to get most of her belongings and made arrangements to come back another day.

11:20 p.m. A disturbance was reported at a residence on Good Street. The complainant said he went to the residence and told the resident to come outside. When the male came outside a physical altercation took place. Officers responded and spoke to several witnesses that were present. Both parties involved in the fight signed a waiver of non-prosecution on each other, but officers issued both disorderly conduct citations.

Sept. 14

1:13 p.m. A welfare concern was reported for a man that was walking and the caller was worried about the heat. An officer gave the man a courtesy ride to work. 

2:19 p.m. Wood County S.O. reported they had received a 911 call from a residence on Nuss Street. The caller could be heard arguing with someone. A Wood County Deputy assisted an officer at the residence. The caller had the phone in his pocket and it was determined to be a verbal argument.

4:29 p.m. A disturbance was reported in the parking lot of a business on West Broad Street. Officers responded and determined the situation to be a medical related issue with a family member.

7:01 p.m. A theft was reported at Walmart. The suspect left the store before being identified. This is under investigation.

8:30 p.m. A man reported he got out at EZ Mart to get fuel and had his grandmother’s wedding ring in his pocket to take it to a jeweler and have it made into a ring for his wife. Apparently the ring fell out of his pocket at the pump and someone picked it up. Surveillance shows a woman picking the ring up. If anyone found the ring please contact the police department.

Sept. 15

4:11 p.m. A disturbance was reported on Francis Street. It was reported that the resident that would not let the complainant leave the property had assaulted the complainant. Brandy Nicole Reyes, 39, of Mineola was arrested for assault causing bodily injury.

7:02 p.m. Officers arrested Nathalia Frenchesca Vela, 20, of Grand Saline at the same residence on Francis Street for a warrant out of Van Zandt County for Assault Family Violence.

7:43 p.m. A disturbance was reported at a convenience store on South Pacific Street when a woman came into the store intoxicated and bleeding from some type injury. She got into an argument with a woman in line and assaulted the store clerk when the clerk called 911. EMS arrived and stated the woman that was bleeding needed to be treated, but she refused. An officer transported the woman to the hospital and she was released to her husband. The woman was issued a citation for disorderly conduct. The officers were not able to find out what took place with the woman to cause her injury, because she would not cooperate. The clerk at the store refused to file charges for the assault. 

Sept. 16

5:41 a.m. A reckless driver was reported on South Pacific St. that could not maintain a single lane of traffic. The complainant reported the driver appeared to doze off at the light. An officer was able to get the vehicle stopped on Greenville Avenue. The driver was headed to a medical appointment and had no one to drive him. The officer made sure the man got to the appointment, which was close by.

8:46 a.m. A convenience store on East Broad Street requested a juvenile to be criminally trespassed from the store for being disorderly. The trespass warning was issued.

10:58 a.m. A car was reportedly on fire at City National Bank. Officers assisted the fire department and transported the driver of the vehicle to the police department to have someone pick him up.

1:00 p.m. A landlord reported a burglary at a residence on West Blair Street that he was working on. Power tools were taken from the residence. No forced entry was noted.

1:43 p.m. EMS requested assistance at a residence on Chaparral Street. EMS reported CPR in progress.  Officers arrived and started a death investigation on a 67 year old female. Judge Janae Holland ordered an autopsy and the results are pending.

Sept. 17

11:50 a.m. A new owner of a business on East Broad Street reported money taken from the account after the purchase. The owner was referred to civil court.

Sept. 18

7:39 a.m. Boxes were reported in the roadway on East McDonald Street. An officer responded to the area and removed the boxes.

7:50 a.m. A person working out at the Snap Fitness Center reportedly dropped a gun while working out. An officer responded and spoke with the subject that dropped the gun. It was determined that he was in the military and working out with a fake gun on his side for military training purposes.

8:15 a.m. A reckless driver call was received at Loop 564. An officer stopped the driver on South Pacific Street and determined that the driver was not intoxicated but holding her phone in her hand and following the GPS.
