April 2

12:48 a.m. A resident on W. McDonald reported criminal mischief when he noticed that his vehicle had been egged. A check of the area was completed by officers.

8:43 a.m. Officers assisted a motorist when their vehicle stalled out at E. Broad and Pacific. Vehicle was removed from roadway. 

10:56 p.m. Officers assisted EMS with a medical call on Francis St. Scene was released to EMS after their arrival.

April 3

1:24 a.m. Officer assisted a motorist at the entrance of Walmart who had run out of gas. 

8:20 a.m. Animal control received a call of a snake hanging upside down on a sliding glass door in the                  700 block of W. Blair St. Snake was removed.

10:13 a.m. A suspicious man was reported inside Walmart attempting to leave the store with a cart full of unpaid items. The man appeared to have changed his mind and left the store without the buggy full of items. No charges were filed.

10:25 a.m. A motor vehicle accident occurred at N. Pacific St. and E. Kilpatrick St. One person was transported by EMS. 

3:58 p.m. An English St. resident report a suspicious vehicle that had been parked on the street for an extended period of time. Before officer’s arrival, the vehicle had left the area in an unknown direction. 

6:30 p.m. A loud verbal argument was reported on W. Blair St. It was found that it was some children being loud and the parent was able to address the noise issue.  

6:33 p.m. Police received a welfare check request on two students of the Mineola school district. Both were found to be OK. MPD was assisted by Wood and Cooke County Sheriff’s Offices.

April 4

6:08 p.m. A group of juveniles were asked to leave the carwash located on E. Broad due to loitering. Subjects left without incident.  

11:04 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Read St. in reference to a disturbance. It was determined to be a verbal argument only. The parties were separated for the night.  

April 5

12:28 p.m. A theft was reported at Walmart when a woman left the store without paying for her items. A description of the vehicle was given to officers and a traffic stop was conducted. The stolen items were recovered and all items returned to the store. Theft and trespassing charges are pending. 

5:03 p.m. Officers were called to the carwash on E. Broad St. when a man reported someone recording him while he was washing his vehicle. Both parties where talked to and the subject that was doing the recording was upset due to the loud music emitting from the vehicle. The recording was stopped and the music was turned down. 

5:23 p.m. A city ordinance violation was reported on Francis St. when a man at the location was burning without a permit. The fire was put out and the man was educated on proper method to obtain the required permit. 

11:58 p.m. An assault was reported in the 500 block of Hogg St. Subjects refused to pursue charges. A report was completed by the officers.

April 6

8:08 a.m. The Mineola Civic Center reported a criminal mischief offense. Property damage had occurred to several grassy areas sometime during the night. This case is under investigation and person of interest has been interviewed. Investigation continues. 

3:10 p.m. A suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot of Walmart. The vehicle had been in the same location for several hours. Officer spoke with the occupants and learned that they were using the store’s free Wifi. 

7:26 p.m. A woman reported that a person known to her used a threatening hand gestured after a child custody exchange in the 1200 block of N. Pacific St. The incident was documented.

April 7

8:47 a.m. A woman reported that an unknown male subject was being irate, yelling at her while she was in a friend’s yard in the 300 block of N. Line St. The subject had left in a vehicle before the officers’ arrival. Officers searched the area. 

2:35 p.m. A woman in the 1700 block of N. Newsom St. requested to speak with an officer about property that her ex-husband has possession of.  The woman was referred to justice of the peace, Precinct 2 office, as it is a civil issue. 

3:01 p.m. A woman in the 600 block of S. Pacific St. requested to talk to an officer about filing charges on a man who stopped payment on a check. All matters involved in this case occurred in Van Zandt County. The woman was referred to the proper court. 

April 8

12:08 a.m. A Tyler-based car service reported driving a woman home to the 1100 block of N. Newsom St. and after arriving at her destination she refused to pay for the transport service. After calling the police department the woman did pay the fee. 

12:44 a.m. Officers assisted EMS with a medical call in the 300 block of Landers St.

5:37 p.m. A disturbance was reported in the 1000 block of S. Pacific St.  The parties were separated and after further investigation it was determined to be verbal only. No charges were filed.

April 9

8:57 a.m. Officer responded to a 9-1-1 hang up call from the 400 block of W. McDonald St. to check on the residents.  After further investigation it was found that the homeowner dialed the phone by mistake. 

9:14 a.m. A woman in the 400 block of Stone St. reported harassing phone calls from a known male subject.  Officer attempted to contact the man on several occasions but were unsuccessful.

1:23 p.m. An officer assisted a stranded motorist at the Mineola Civic Center. The officer assisted in jump-starting a dead battery to get the vehicle running again. 

2:12 p.m. Police received a complaint of a non-essential business open on the NE Loop 564. Officer made contact with the owner of the business and advised him of the governor’s orders. 

2:56 p.m. A semi-truck attempted to make a turn at W. Blair St. and Pegues St. The driver was unsuccessful and with the officer’s assistance was able to get turned back around and headed in the correct direction.

6:47 p.m. Officers were called to Walmart for unattended children left alone in a vehicle. Mother was located. Everyone found to be OK. 

9:11 p.m. A suspicious person was located at a business in the 1400 block of S. Pacific. The officer talked with the gentleman who was found to be doing work for them after hours. Everything was verified by the business. 

9:32 p.m. A call was received of a car and truck racing on University St. and Dubose St. The vehicles left the area before the officer arrived. A  check of the area was conducted.

April 10

1:56 p.m. An alarm was reported at a business in the 1300 block of N. Pacific St. An officer located the manager and discovered that everything was fine.

7:10 p.m. A disturbance between a male and female inside a vehicle was reported at a business in the 100 block of N. Pacific St. The vehicle took off at a high rate of speed. The Wood County Sherriff’s Office was contacted once the vehicle left the city limits.  

April 11

12:34 a.m. Loud music was reported in the 100 block of Francis St. Officer located the noise and after speaking with the resident the music was turned down.

7:25 a.m. A man in the 100 block of Stone St. reported that an unknown person left a nasty note on his vehicle. An officer responded and an incident report was completed. 

8:58 p.m. A man was issued a criminal trespass warning after returning to a property that he once lived at on Karen St. The man was attempting to dig up plants at the residence that he had left upon his departure.

12:12 p.m. A property owner reported that a window air conditioning unit was removed from a rental house without his consent. The property is located in the 400 block of W. Blair St. This case is under investigation. 

1:55 p.m. A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend is posting photos of her on-line without her permission and has requested him to stop. This is under investigation. 

2:52 p.m. A Wigley St. resident contacted the police when an elderly woman was seen walking in the rain. The family was contacted and the woman was picked up by a family member. 

9:28 p.m. Officers assisted a motorist with a stalled vehicle near County Road 2725.  The vehicle was moved out of the roadway.

April 12

7:22 a.m. A man in the 1700 block of N. Pacific St. reported that his vehicle was taken without his consent by a known man. A report was made and the truck was entered into the police database. The vehicle was later recovered in Arkansas. Investigation continues. 

5:50 p.m.-12:00 p.m. Officers responded to multiple alarm calls, welfare checks and assisted Mineola Fire Department with many down tree calls due to the strong winds and storms.  

April 13

6:47 p.m. An officer spoke with a man about his vehicle parked on the wrong side of the street in the 200 block of Molly Lane. Vehicle was moved and parked correctly.

9:49 p.m. Howard County Sheriff’s Office contacted Mineola PD in reference to a stolen vehicle out of Mineola. The vehicle was recovered from the N. Pacific St. case.  

April 14

12:20 a.m. An officer received a tip about a possible altercation to take place at a business in the 500 block of W. Broad St. The caller stated it had been posted on social media site. Mineola officers along with Van Zandt County deputy talked with each party involved and no altercation occurred. 

9:59 a.m. A theft report was made and is under investigation when a male subject left Walmart with unpaid merchandise. 

11:28 a.m. A reckless driver was reported speeding and driving erratically in a parking lot on E. Broad. An officer located the vehicle and driver at a business on S. Pacific St. Due to the driver not having a valid driver license, a family member was requested to pick up the vehicle.  

1:08 p.m. A complaint was reported to the police department when several subjects where reported stopping traffic at the intersection of N. Pacific St. and Loop 564 trying to get cash donations. The subjects left prior to the officer’s arrival. The same group had also been reported earlier at Loop 564 and Hwy. 49. 

6:00 p.m. A suspicious man was reported checking doors at businesses on E. Broad. Officers located the man and asked him to leave the area after he picked up his food.  

April 15

12:42 p.m. An officer was flagged down by a motorist in reference to a power pole needing repair on Wren St. The appropriate agency was contacted. 

2:16 p.m. A disturbance was reported in the McDonald’s parking lot when a vehicle reportedly pulled in front of another vehicle while in the drive through lane. This was a verbal altercation between two parties. One party had left prior to officer’s arrival. No offense had been committed
